  1. Dispelling dealership lies.

I didn't really care about it so I had no need to search... plus I bought a 2019 when it was so new that there wasn't much in the internet except pictures. They simply explained as I noted... and what they said is true. So you're saying the tow/haul mode console switch is on absolutely every US...
  2. Dispelling dealership lies.

Hmmm... so maybe my dealer was the dealer being dishonest? ?
  3. Dispelling dealership lies.

I have the tow package, it's more than a receiver hitch and larger plug. It has drivetrain management (tow mode) that provides engine braking during downhill via transmission management, and the package also adds trailer sway control via brake management. I have towed with and without the tow...
  4. Horns / Wiring

Hi, electrical engineer here. A simple way I went about horn replacement vs aux horn, is to remove F48 and replace it with a micro2 fuse tap, didn't populate the bottom fuse (effectively removing ability for power to flow to yel/red to factory horn), and instead used the top slot in the fuse tap...
  5. Cabin air recirculate issue

Ha! This is funny. My 83 GMC K2500 has a full metal tailgate, probably weighs close to 100lbs, and all my life I've opened and closed steel gates with no "help". My Ranger aluminum tailgate is extremely light, it only takes a few pounds of human force to lower the gate without it hitting the...
  6. I have a ghost in my new truck.......

Totally agree - my knee is not my friend! And welcome Becky!
  7. Tire Pressure?

I have a very accurate gauge (Joes Racing) that I check calibration against an air standard, it's within 1/2 PSI - and my TPMS says the tires are the same as my gauge. So maybe your gauge is the problem. In my opinion; within a pound or two of 30 is fine, but it's better if they all read the...
  8. Parking Brake boot has a tear

    Yup, mine too, cheap pleather....
  9. Report your MPG

XLT STX Supercab 4X4... 22- 24 mpg over 7,980 miles; 64 mile round trip commute week days, 5690 elevation average, rolling country, some 50+MPH stretches. 91 octane non-ethanol. Definitely spool the turbo once or twice a day, so I'm happy with MPG.
  10. Colorado here

If they're the 2.5" I'm definitely interested. I'll send you a private message with contact info.
  11. Look at my Ranger parked next to stuff

    Damn.... love that Commando!
  12. SuperCab Rangers are Rare Here, How About Your Location?

I bought a supercab STX 4x4 in northern Colorado, they had mine and another on the lot in Loveland CO. I've seen a couple supercabs in my area; one a service truck and the other the gold one off the lot when I bought mine. So there are at least (3) in northern Colorado so far!
  13. Mystery part under dash

Ask them if they want to buy it back for $125.... or if they prefer to trade for a textured hood protector? :)
  14. Test drove a Ranger yesterday

Also, did anyone see the Motortrend episode this week comparing the Ranger, Canyon and Ridgeline? Ultimately they picked the Ridgeline (WTF?!) and admitted it would be a controversial choice, and they noted Toyota refused to put a Tacoma up for testing and they noted there hasn't been any...
  15. Test drove a Ranger yesterday

I drove new Tacomas and the Canyons (4x4 models) before I bought my XLT STX 4x4 Ranger. The Ranger was more lively, handled better, rode way better than the Taco, better towing options and bed weight, and is better fit/finish interior than the Canyon. I owned a 4th gen Ranger, still own a (very...
  16. Minor , annoying, vibration 45-58 mph?

If I'm reading this right; the right rear needed 14 ounces of weights?! Many years ago I worked in a tire shop before I went to the Army, and we never allowed more than 6 ounces any wheel, sometimes rotating the tire on the wheel got it in range, if not then switching the tire out solved the...
  17. Colorado here

Thanks Jesse. Any trouble driving it to get the alignment done afterward? Anything you don't like about the spacers?
  18. Colorado here

Loveland here... be interested in meetups, and hearing details of 2.5 lift install DIY.... there are lots of kits now, just want to know how hard it really is?
  19. Transmission Issues

I guess I'm the exception.... mine was rough at first. They all should be. By 4K miles it had learned my driving and seems fairly smooth. Any adaptive system is a little rough before it has amassed enough consistent repetitions. Consistent being the key word. Which leads me to a point many may...
