A tactile bump, well done.. and thanks for sharing. I could swear that Ford used to have those back in the 1990's?

I'll be taking advantage of your creativity and use this idea on my ranger too.
One of these would also be handy for the ASS button on the console.

I like the cruise control buttons on my Transit Connect, so it took a little while to get used to the Ranger's design.
One point...
Why is there a separate resume and cancel button? On the TC There is a single paddle switch for on/off.

The first thing I didn't like, are the switches for the cruise control.
I like that they are mounted on the steering wheel, but I couldn't use it without a short glance.
With this feeling point is this problem solved (for me)

I just want to know why i need to push an on button. If I hit set, wouldn't that mean I want to use it? I wish I could turn cruze on and ready all the time.

Are there cruise controls from other manufacturers that do that? Every one I've used, Ford, Subaru, Chevy, Toyota, etc. you've had to turn it on first, then set it.

I'd imagine it's a two step process as a safety feature? Maybe? In case you bump the set button accidentally without knowing and all of a sudden you're maintaining speed instead of slowing down like you thought you were or something. Maybe someone like you could recover from that mistake in time, but I know for a fact there are plenty more people who would freak out, get confused, and end up running into the back of the person in front.

My old VW had a slide switch that I'd just set to on and never turn off. Drove me nuts that every time I took it for service someone would helpfully turn it off. :explode:

Probably, but it sucks.

Yeah, takes getting used to, but since I use ACC every day and almost every time I drive it, Muscle Memory has made this a no-look function.

This makes me wonder if maybe there is a FORSCAN mod to make cruise control come on every time the vehicle is started. I use cruise control very often, so that would be a really nice feature.

I used to have British (right side shift) and Japanese (left side shift) motorcycles at the same time. There was never a problem adapting from one to the other...the fast reliable bikes shifted with the left foot while the oil leaky bikes shifted with the right foot. There were no braille bumps on either set of shifters so I'm not sure how the blind riders got by either.
That's interesting because my Husky (Huskvarna) shifted on the right and did not leak any oil, Ha Ha.
