Hey all,
2021 Ranger Lariat with 74,000km. Trucks had an easy life, lots of highway and no towing and tranny started to hard shift about a month ago.
Then when driving at a steady 50kph ish there is a juddering almost like a misfire.
Next thing when coming to a stop huge bang like I’d been rear ended and truck lurched forwards. Happened maybe 4 times.
Back to dealer and after diagnosis valve body replacement. Decent service and hopefully get truck back tomorrow (next day).
Still got power train warranty luckily.

Mine made it to 74k miles before it went kaboom. Mine was an early 21. I think the change to the drum came second half of 22. I use my truck as a truck, a lot. So I expected this based on the forum.

Your title sounds like a drunk night in Thailand. Which is fitting, ranger was tested there.

Truck was returned and transmission shifting much better but now I have the infamous bucking/surging and have ordered the DPFE sensor hoping that's the problem. Ford's diagnostic charge was almost the same cost as the part and I'm past 3 year warranty.

This thread should get some sort of award simply for the title. Made me chuckle the first time I saw it.

Here I sit in the driver seat
tranny bucked me out to the street
because I was bored
I took it to Ford
where I was ignored

To the tranny tech it went
they guessed it was spent
CDF drum was replaced
no more tranny in my face

Welcome to Thailand , boys!
Typically every Marine I know has a story about Thailand. That or eating crayons.

Im AF and still active so I am allowed to talk crap. Don’t want anyone to think I’m trashing the military in anyway.

Totally understood! Been out of the Army longer than I like to think about. (Where does the time go?!) And to this day still, still love trash talking between the branches. All in good fun. Because we can say anything to each other. But heaven help any outsider that talks crap to one of our fellow service members/veterans.

I have my AF issued chair. Have to bring it with me everywhere. It is the chair force after all. To bad I build bombs…. No chairs there.
