I'm installing the OEM Brake Controller, and have an issue with seating the the 3rd brakelight connector.

The 3rd brakelight connector has a protruded white section in the front. That section clearly needs to be pressed in, to be flush.
The connector that it replaces in the car, does not have a protruding front.

I'm not sure if
(a) it's a locking mechanism -- ie needs to be pressed in after the wires pins are inserted; or
(b) it's supposed to be pressed in before inserting the pins.

I tried pressing the front in using several methods (pressing in the small white tabs, etc), but wasn't able to.
How is the front pressed in?

Just did this. The wires inserted through the back need a fair amount of pressure. Then I used a pair of pliers. One part on the white piece, at the corner of the “L”, the other part on the black piece’s ridge (close to where the wires are inserted. Light pressure on the pliers will close it up.

Ah, great -- thank you. So it's set flush after wires are inserted. That makes sense.
Thanks again, I'll give that a try :)
