Let me start out by saying, I am not saying QT gas is bad. When we were living in Texas I was using QT gas regularly mostly out of convenience. Having moved back to the midwest QT is available but not as convenient. We have been back for 2 yrs now so that is how long I have been doing this experiment so it is not a coincidence. I usually fill up when I am at about half a tank just because if I am out it's done & if I need to go out I don't weed to stop first. Because of our location driving to get to some where needs to be done, nothing is a 5 min drive. All that being said I have been using mostly Phillips 66, 87 oct also 87 oct at QT. When using Phillips 66 I can get any where from 1 1/2 to 3 miles per gallon (depending on driving conditions) better gas mileage than with QT. So unless I am on the road & that is all that is available I am not using QT gas. Just my opinion based on my little experiment. Other driver opinions may vary. Thanks for listening. All have a great day. :like:

Many folks don't realize the large oil refineries provide fuel for every gas company. That particular gas company adds their own top-tier additives or bottom-tier additives (which "could" affect fuel mileage I guess) but it all comes from the same place. When a transport tanker arrives for a load of top-tier gas (Shell, Exxon, BP, etc) and there is no top-tier gas available at that moment, they will fill that tanker up with bottom-tier (murphy, speedway, whatever) and head out. We as the end users are Totally at the mercy of whatever come out of that nozzle.

As an experiment I have tried gas from different gas companies here locally, Shell, Chevron, and cheaper gas stations. I haven't noticed a difference in MPG so I stick to my local cheaper grocery store gas station gas.

I've always heard to not stress about the gas company, just buy your gas from large stations that sell a high volume of gas. Less chance of stale gas or water in the gas.

Something else you could probably do to help save his download the Phillips 66 app and connect to bank account. Right now through the end of March you get $0.25 off a gallon using the mobile app and to say the least I use it quite a bit out here in Colorado. On a side note you could probably get a little extra fuel mileage using 89 or higher octane. I have already proven myself with higher octane premium to be more particular doing better for the fuel mileage on the Ranger

How dare you speak poorly of QT! Best gas station by far. I lived in boulder last year and was quickly reminded how much I missed having a quality gas station to go to.
