Intentional de-contenting of original design intent. Designers go through great extent to improve visual continuity of DLO (day light opening) by hiding the B pillar. In the end, it's all a personal preference...
Precisely. And that's all that matters.....my truck, my choice

Like it much better without the black vinyl!

Those trucks all look great. I'm leaving mine on my black truck. They hide fingerprints.

For those that like the black, what about the using the black sticker? Just wondering if it would prevent the faded plastic look later on.

To protect plastic parts use 303 Aerospace Protectant. It's hands down the best protectant you can use for UV protectant and it will not leave the surface all oily like Armor All does. I use it on my tonneau cover, top of the bed rails and all my interior. 303 has a lot of great automotive products.

Interesting! Who would have thought it was just a sticker. I will be leaving mine on though. We all know what they say about opinions but for me it ruins the flow of the windows on the cab. With the sticker removed, it seems too "broken up" on the design. Also the indentation line at the top and the seal at the bottom makes it looks like it is missing a veneer panel. I do however think gloss black would look nice with tinted windows.

But just like @Rinn69 states....your truck your choice!

I'll need to walkback my previous post a bit. I think that looks good on the 2 door models. 4 door.....not so much.

Great looking truck in its element my friend!

There is a very noticeable paint defect under the pillar decal on my truck. Guess I need to buy some new pillar decals to cover it up.

Finally decided to join the peel it off club. Many thanks to the OP who pioneered this mod.
For me it makes the door look more one piece vs a two piece look.

Sorry to see that man, once you start peeling there's no going back.

Plasti-Dip it.....not as smooth as the decal, but hella cheaper and easier to apply and re-do if necessary

Thanks for the idea. Any thoughts about if I should remove the window seals before applying the plasti dip, or just tape them over?

Not sure how visible it is to everyone in the picture, but it looks like the factory sanded off the foreign material in the paint, and sanded off a big splotch of the clear coat as well.

I would just tape over/as close as possible. Just make sure to remove the tape before it is fully set.
