Hi Duke,

Yep!

Best,
Phil
Thanks Phil - all this time, I thought it was for improved reception. ? I thought I had something special - turns out, it was faulty and needed a fix. ?

Hi Doug,

Drip rails were a NVH nightmare for wind whistle.... Glad they are gone.... Drip Rails and right front fender Antennas...wind whistle generators... Ever wonder why the Ranger Antenna of the past had a course stainless steel wrap?... Yep....to break up the standing wave created by the fender mounted antenna.....

Best,
Phil
I'll bet they were.

Probably something that both designers AND engineers were glad to see go.

there is some black half round available on amazon.
its not that obvious if you ask me.

but i was looking at mine today, and the roof rails create quite a channel already to route water forward or back.
theres really only 3-4" of surface area left to let water run down towards the door
Is there an echo in this thread?

Hi Doug

Complicating things is the tumblehome on modern vehicles. The more slab sided the less chance of drippage on the seats... Tumblehome is not a common term but here is a graphic of what it is...

Me: checked to see if it was April 1 yet and if Phil was pulling our leg ?. That sounds like a word made up by engineers to prank regular people lol.

Hi Adam,

Nope...real word...Nautical term adapted to automobiles.... When I first heard the term many years ago as a Nubie at Ford, I also thought it was a prank..

Best,
Phil

Same thing here brother. But, it's still better than my Wrangler. It has drip rail on the hard top. Problem is they fall short of moving the water to the windshiled. They just dump it onto my left leg when I open the door.

I have to be careful, cause if I move to soon it makes it look like I peed in my little britches. :)
Jim, we all know you're getting older and could use a little help now.....You're welcome.?

Never thought about that but it totally makes sense.

Also never knew that term.

What kind of truck are you riding around in that it can't et a little wet every now and again?

Just make sure you tumble home to the right home next time.
It was a little awkward that time you were the big spoon.
Who are you kidding, you loved it!
