Water harvesting is big in the desert. Maybe ford could incorporate a holding tank at the end of the water channels. We dont want to save daylight we want to save water. :tumbleweed:

It is rainy season and opening my door gets rain on the outer edge of the front seat . Can not even think of a cure . I guess the manufacturers just save money by not having drip rails on trucks . Wish I had a cure , any ideas ? The outside door visors are great with the door closed but with an open door rain or even snow drops on the seat . Oh yeah do not say move to the desert .
In the mid 90s Ford L series trucks still had drip rails. They decided to automate the process of welding the outer skin of the roof to the truck along the drip rail. Tolerances were so close that the robot had to do some fancy measuring to determine precisely where the drip rail was, so the robot could make the welds without chewing up the rail. It used the Pythagorean theory to do the skew calculation. What a PITA that was. When the system mis-measured the location, the resulting crash could be very impressive.

I was glad to see drip rails go . Although I suspect the reason was more for esthetics than cost saving.
