New member with Ranger XLT Sport, Chuck in So Fl. Had a 19 Tacoma Sport for 6 months and didn’t find anything wrong with it, but got a hair up my ass and decided to drive an XLT Ranger. was so impressed with the features and sportyness. So I went to Mullinex ford where I have bought a lot of vehicles. I told them I would trade, but did not want to be any deeper indebted. The gave an excellent trade in price and reduced an XLT Sport, Nav, power seats, & a lot more by over $4000 and good incentives. so I bought it and I’m only several hundred in debt.

Agreed. There have been a few hiccups for a few people, but overall I think most people are really happy with them - and most seem to be trouble free. I've not had any issues in two months and close to 3000 miles of driving.

I think you will love it once you get it. The waiting is the hardest part.

I have driven both and I agree. The powertrain is actually the reason I'm considering the Ranger (and a few features: Android Auto, remote start, head room, etc.) Just hard to shake my experiences with Tacomas over the last decade...

Who's using these as daily driver/family friendly/weekend warrior vehicles? And what are your thoughts?
Mine is a daily driver, and I absolutely love it. This is by far my favorite vehicle I have ever owned. Only issues so far is the drivers window was scratched on delivery and ford replaced it, recently the keypad stopped working. Ford is waiting for a replacement.

I have almost 3000 miles on it local driving and commuting to work. I will eventually be towing it behind my motor home when I have time to install the tow plate.

Hello!

I'm new to the forum and haven't actually pulled the trigger on a Ranger yet. I recently had a daughter, (our first) and my 03 Xtracab Tacoma (which I adore) has to go so that we can still adventure as a family. I'm currently on the fence, as i'm sure many of you were: Ranger vs Tacoma. I'm sure y'all will have a lot to say about that! Research, research, research.

Historically, I've owned both Fords and Toyotas: 1984 Tacoma, 2001 F-250, 2007 Ranger, and a 2003 Tacoma.

Thanks for the ADD!
Congratulations! Nothing more precious than a little one.:inlove: And if you decide on a new Ranger you definitely are in for a thrill!

Hi, Im Anne. My hot pepper chrome package is on production line today! Wicked excited but nervous with reading about problems with them. Will be my 5th Ranger. Went with a Tacoma last Oct and hate it. Hope I made the right choice; I think I did.
I’ve only had mine a couple of weeks, but absolutely LOVE it and no problems at all!

I neglected to say congrats on the little one! Enjoy the time when they are young - it goes by quickly.

Thank you for the add! This is my first post, but I've been reading through the forums here for a while. I still haven't purchased my Ranger, but I'm leaning towards it (I've test driven the Ranger, Tacoma, and Colorado). I daily drove a lowered F150 for about 10 years and I miss having a truck. Currently, I drive a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek, and once it's paid off I'd really like to get another truck. I'm sure I'll post more somewhere else, but I just wanted to say hello and thank you for the add.

I've had my Ranger for a week now. This is the 3rd Ranger that I've own, the first being a 1988 XLT. I loved the styling of this new Ranger and I looked online at my dealer's website and they had several that were heavily discounted. They had a Lariat that had everything that I wanted, the tech package, nav, B & O sound, all the safety features, tow package, even came with a tonneau cover. So I stopped to take a look and a test drive. I was concerned about the 4 cylinder 2.3 being strong enough as well as the ride the Bridgestone Duelers tires would give. As soon as I drove it I was hooked. The acceleration was great, the ride was smoother than my 2014 Terrain. Of course the Hot Pepper Red Sports Package didn't hurt either. I think that this will be the best truck I've ever own. So much nicer than the Taco I looked at and a lot more tech features than the Canyon or Colorado. Very happy at the moment. Hope time doesn't let me down, but for right now, I just love driving it!

Told the wife I was getting haircut and looking at tires for the Terrain. Got new tires, they just came with a truck!

Hello all! New member here from the Savannah, Ga area. Picked up a new SLT FX4 in Hot Pepper Red with the sport appearance package. Looking forward to being a part of this community.
Picked up the truck this passed Saturday on a trade in. Came from a FBO 2008 Lexus ISF. Anyone who knows anything about what that car is will know that I will have a bit of an adjustment. But it's one on looking forward to, as I intend to use this truck, not only for trips to the hardware store, but also wanting to get into some overlanding.

Hey all,

New owner here too, picked it up last weekend and enjoying it so far. Came from a 2017 Tacoma, and a couple of Escapes before that. Also have an Edge Sport in the garage. Pretty happy with the Ranger so far!
