New member and new Ranger owner from Canada. Used this forum for 6 months while researching to by the new Ranger. I saw one in the spring and had the itch ever since. Had my Lariat a little over a week and can't wait to drive it every day, even look forward to the drive to work. First truck I have ever owned.
Welcome, I like driving mine so much I offered to go get a gallon of milk.

Hi name is Miles. Have A Subaru Forester. Wife needed a Mobility Scooter so decided what I need is a small truck for trans porting it. Been torn between A Tacoma or Ranger. Decided after research that the Ranger is for us. Now to find the best deal.

Tommy here from Virginia, just purchased a 2019 shadow black lariat package. Just downsized from my old 2001 F-250 Superduty, getting too old to climb into the truck, since it had a 4" lift and 35" tires. I'm planning on doing a 3" leveling kit and new rims and tires. I've read some good info here on the site. I'll be lurking around!

Greetings,

I am Todd, used to own Subaru Forester diesel and since a month I traded it for the Ranger - 2.0 Biturbo Diesel Wildtrak. I had the itch for a pickup truck for around 6 months even though this kind of car is not popular in Europe at all.
I am living in Luxembourg.

Gentlemen,
I'm a new member, I will be ordering a Ranger similar to what txpetroguy bought.
I've been unable to get a straight answer from my local dealer on the following question:
On the Ford build your own page, under the column "Model" it says:

2019 Ford Ranger XLT $30,295
SuperCrew®, 5' Box, 4x2, 2.3L
EcoBoost Engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology,
Electronic Ten-Speed Automatic Transmission,
3.73 Electronic-Locking Axle Ratio

Under the "Options" column I intend to order the
Electronic-Locking Rear Differential (3.73) $420

Does anyone know what the difference is between the
"3.73 Electronic-Locking Axle Ratio" described under "Model"
and the
"Electronic-Locking Rear Differential (3.73) $420"
described under the "Options" ?

Should I pay $420 for the "Electronic-Locking Rear Differential (3.73)" if that function is already built into the drive train?

Thanks for your help,
Dan

Welcome! I don’t believe that the locking diff will come on the truck unless you add it as a separate option. As far as I know the only way to get it is a stand-alone option or as part of the FX4 package. I’m not sure you can still order a 2019 either, if you’re ordering from the factory you will likely be ordering a 2020.

You cannot order a 2019 any longer. Any factory orders will be for 2020 models. There is just about a month left of 2019 production before they swap over to the 2020 MY.
