Hi All,
I have been lurking here for a couple months in preparation for my new 22 to show up. Well after 4 months my new 22 Screw Lariat finally arrived a couple days ago. Loving the new truck. I've been in F150's for quite a few years and have a question about the differences in the gear indicator. I know about the sport mode and manual shifting and display of the gear indicator. In my F150 I traded the gear indicator was activated the same way as the Ranger, with the + button on the gear shift. I noticed on the ranger when I activate the gear indicator it works fine in D or S but when I turn off the truck and then restart, I have to re-activate it. Is there a way to keep it active?
Also, I see a lot of joking around about the tailgate dampeners. Is it a mod worth doing? It's not like I don't have enough strength to drop or lift the gate. One of my past F150's had one and I thought it was a nice feature.
I have a lid and steps on the way. Should be here in the next week. We sold our travel trailer a couple years ago and now will only be towing the old car to a couple out of state events a year. I do a lot of bowhunting so it will be handy for that and of course there is Minnesota winter. I don't think I need to explain that to anyone. We get plenty of winter here.
One more thing...I inspected the truck closely and don't have bad overhang on the hood and door alignment is good as well as bumper and tailgate. I do have some wind noise on the passenger front door though. Didn't notice this on test drive though as it was all surface street. It is only at highway speeds. Thoughts?
No plans for tunes or suspension mods at this point. I like the way the truck looks. It handles well also.
Thanks for any insight.
Glen
