When I was kid I'd look at cars I could hopefully afford and do imaginary sound system builds from a Crutchfield catalog, before the internet.

Nowadays I waste time doing full on imaginary builds online.

I've built that Jeep every way possible in my mind. Who knows where it'll end up.

Sorry for the Jeep Jacking Sid. I'll shut up now.
haha its just part of it man! ive built my little 98 civic many times over in my head with all the parts id want to add but sadly i never do it haha who knows where it will go or if ill just get rid of it...

true this be a transmission thread

I had a YJ until it rusted away. With the 4 liter motor it was a go anywhere tank (within reason). The only problem I had other than the rust was the doors and tops wouldn't seal well. Nice thing was a last Gen ranger bench seat would bolt right in an boom you had a 5 passenger jeep.

I think the TJs are a nice combo with good fitting doors an tops but still basic enough to work on an beat on. I might be wrong since I haven't owned one. I might own one if there was one in Ohio without a rusted out frame.

I just recently picked up a TJ after previously having a CJ7 and a brand new 2017 JK.

Also a Grand Cherokee WJ that I really liked.

I'd take the TJ over the others all day every day.

CJ7 was 350 Chevy swapped and was fun for a few hours. Then you had enough and were done for a while.

The JK just didn't bring the "fun" that the CJ7 had.

The TJ does have that fun Jeep character and is FAR more livable than my CJ was.

Even the wife drove it and said "This is lots more fun than those others"

But it is indeed lacking leaf springs (thankfully :whew: )

I like both but the LJ looks kinda funky.

I read the OME leafs on a YJ made it ride really well but they were pricey.

You got lucky Ford stuck with the 5g another year. 6g won't need dampers and time for a new gig ?

Easy.

The thread started out about transmission problems.

It's only natural that Chrysler products would make an appearance in any transmission problem discussion :sunglasses:

I prefer the TJ, though the LJ does have more room for stuff in the back.

Several issues with the LJ:

1: People seem to think they're made of platinum.

2: Most have the problematic 42RLE transmission (a front wheel drive minivan transmission that Jeep knocked a hole in the side of and added an output shaft to make it RWD. Seriously) or the equally problematic NSG370 manual. The 06 model seemed to mostly fix the NSG370.

That leaves the rare 2004 model with the NV3550 manual as the one to get if you can find one.

I wanted a fun runabout so the TJ fits the bill.

Plus I have my Ranger if I need to carry more stuff.

Need a 303 transmission oil additive to fix all the defective 5g transmissions being predicted by some .

Regarding #2: How is that possible? Are the motors turned sideways in those models?
