So...pics to follow tomorrow when there is daylight, but yes, IT FOLLOWED ME HOME! I talked to "my guy at the dealer", who is now the sales manager, and I ended up getting $14K for my 2016 Escape SE with 91900 miles, which is more than the KBB private sale estimate. Payments came in right where I wanted them too. Keep in mind that between my wife and I, this is the 6th or 7th vehicle we've bought from him, so he treats us VERY fair. Obviously, your mileage may vary.

First Impressions:
I have to say, it is a damn sexy looking truck! My sales manager told me I can come work for him anytime, as I know exactly what to order. Apparently, the sales guys were all impressed with it today. The biggest thing I noticed upon driving it was how comfortable the ride is. I compared it to my father-in-law's Lincoln Nautilus and my wife laughed...but seriously, it handled these notorious PA roads like a champ. Obviously, the cornering isn't the same, but in a straight line, I find it hard to believe this is a truck. Compared to my '08 Colorado and '06 Dakota, this Ranger rides like butter. It's even a smoother ride than my Escape, and compared to our Explorer ST with its sport tuned suspension, I might as well be driving a Rolls Royce. The other thing that stood out to me is the amount of storage space. The under seat storage in the back is a nice feature, something my prior two trucks never had. The console storage is much bigger than my Escape, though I will be getting the console vault to lock up certain items that I can't always carry with me in certain places. The glove box is also a nice size, at least 50% bigger than my Escape. The tray above the Sync screen and cubby below the climate controls offer some nice space to put those "quick grab items" whether they be a phone connected to Sync, an EZ Pass (it's so tacky sticking it to the glass), or some gum.

Ok, now for the bad. I really wish it had projector beam or LED headlights instead of halogen, but those are not available on the XL or XLT. Next, and this is minor, but I was saying "really?" when they told me. Ford does not give you the little manual/paperwork folio anymore. Everything came in a manila envelope. I'm going to be checking Amazon to see if I can find a little "Ford" embossed folio to store the manuals, along with my insurance and registration. Lastly, I popped the hood. To my surprise, there are knobs top and bottom for gas shocks, but they put a prop rod in instead. I'm guessing they might be another "Lariat" only item. Again, this should be easily solved with home delivery so I don't bang my head when working under the hood! I guess it's kind of a minor annoyance, but again, was one of those "really?" moments.

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I'm hoping it is as reliable as my Escape. I plan to keep it for a long time. Remember, pics tomorrow!

I will say… it’s a pretty shit prop angle too. Feel like the prop is way to short. Starting to wonder if I do have heated mirrors. Manual said they turn on when rear defrost is in, but there is no indicator. Only the BLIS.

No i believe you was curious what the prefab area where the struts go looked like.
Yeah that prop rod looks cheesy. Are you going to put gas struts in? Interested in the part # and install if you are.
Thanks for taking the pics

I got the call today. 3 days before the tracker stated too! As long as the numbers work on the trade-in of my Escape, I'll be coming home with her tonight. They REALLY want used vehicles right now, so are paying top dollar. I'm hopeful!

Congratulations, I had '22 Bronco on order and gave up. I searched Rangers for days and finally found a unit coming in that met near all my criteria. The only thing I gave up is 302A vs 301A, no power seats. I wasn't aware they were heated, it didn't mention in package description.

Anyrate, put a deposit on a '22 XLT crew, Cactus Gray, 301A, FX4, SPLASH/ with graphics, trailer tow, sprayed bedliner, black running boards and heavy mats. The truck is in transit and should be here this week. I'm trading my 2013 FOCUS ST towards it.. I gave up my F-250 diesel months ago, I need a tow vehicle for motorcycles!

Man, I love my 2019 Ranger, but I hate that Ford continues down this path of constantly removing things. This is by far the cheesiest downgrade that they've made so far. Come on, a prop rod on a 30-50k truck? Unbelievable. What’s next? How about removing the push button start and go back to the hand crank?

Every hood strut listed on Rockauto for a Ranger is marked out of stock.
Link to part #?

Could be a good opportunity for someone to sell these. Hint, hint.

I would buy a pair right now if i could

I’ll probs put struts on eventually, assuming I can source them. Mostly because the prop rod only holds the hood about 60-70% open. When you open the hood, it is surprising how much you need to lower it back down to seat the prop rod. I am def going to knock myself cold a few times will working on or servicing the truck. I’ll let everyone know if I find part numbers.

Otherwise I am happy with the truck I got everything else i expected when I place my 2021 order, other than my uncertainty about the heated mirrors. I def got Auto Start/Stop, but honestly I don’t mind it when I am driving in traffic, and when I don’t want it it isn’t so onerous to turn off. We’ll see if that attitude persists.

Honestly, if the choice was wait 3 more months for the struts to come in versus get the truck with prop rod now and have to add it myself, I choose the latter. I can add them if I need to.

I get that it is frustrating when they de-feature, but currently give global supply chain issues that I was aware of at time of order, I am more inclined to give them a pass. I knew what I was getting into.
