Yes, but over what range, period is that one calculated? There's already an average MPG in the sub menu...I use the second trip OD for oil change reminder...

I think as long as you haven't reset it, it keeps up the average...so if you've never touched it, then it's the lifetime average MPG...Yes, but over what range, period is that one calculated?
Oh, I guess I never thought about it being resettable.I think as long as you haven't reset it, it keeps up the average...so if you've never touched it, then it's the lifetime average MPG...
How are you checking your mileage? The mpg shown on the dash is questionable at best. My last fill up said 20.3 mpg in town, actual calculated was 19.6 mpg. Best I've even seen in town was 20.7. Road trip gave me 23.2 at 72mph.Hi All - Just got back from a 2500 mile road trip and averaged 21.2 MPG. Honestly that's the best I've done. The tonneau cover helped. Cruise control helped as well as keeping speed around/under 75 MPH. Tires at 35/36 PSI. Anyone else have their hyper mileing tips?
Thanks!
OMG preach it!!!! My thoughts exactly!I like saving money as much (probably more) than anyone. But it's a darn truck and they're not meant for getting great gas mileage. Saving 1-2 mpg isn't going to make any significant difference. Lift it, drive it, work it, enjoy it and if you want good mpg buy a Prius.?

That is what I see too. I have a 7 mile commute to work in stop and go traffic. 16-17 mpg is the norm. Put it on the highway and I'm around 20 mpg. I have a FX4 with the Tremor tires/wheels and a leveling kit.I find that when I don't have to stop, my mileage is 20+. Stopping at lights is what drops me to 16-17. My trick? Run all the red lights.
Seriously though, I just deal with the mileage I am dealt.
Cruising at 65mph nets me 26-27 mpg. The truck is stock height, AC on, and a 4x4 SCab Sport with an Undercover hard cover on the bed. Only got 25 at 75mph on a 675 mile trip including the 2500' hills in I-81 in PA.Hi All - Just got back from a 2500 mile road trip and averaged 21.2 MPG. Honestly that's the best I've done. I am sure altitude hurts mileage significantly.I find that when I don't have to stop, my mileage is 20+. Stopping at lights is what drops me to 16-17. My trick? Run all the red lights.

Yes I tried to use the tidal force too but didn't see much differencePlan your drives when the sun (or moon) is low on the horizon and only drive towards it's general direction (tacking like sailboats) to maximize the gravitational assist...just as importantly, avoid roads that go uphill...
Yes - I saw a big big drop over 75...Manufacturers spend huge bucks to get the best MPG possible, and hundreds of hours in the wind tunnel. Fine for not meeting the CAFE requirement are crazy expensive. For example, Stellantis' fine this year is $295M, GM and Ford are not far behind. Little things make a difference. It's my understanding the "lip" on the tailgate increases MPG by about 1/2 MPG. Anything that upsets the airflow, such as ski racks on the roof or bug deflectors, effects your milage.
I no longer have my '19 Ranger, but I live 35 miles from the nearest retail store, including groceries. When not in a hurry and even tho the limit was 70, I'll drive 60-65. In experimenting with various speeds, it seems once above 65 MPG begins to measurably drop. Between 60-65 my '19 would get upper 20s, the max for one tank was 30, but normal was 26-27. At 75 milage was typically 22-24. Many of the early miles on the truck were in Sport mode and milage was about 2 MPG less.
