I believe the 270/310 numbers are rated on 87 octane.
Not in the heat where I am at .... I am sure most vehicles are pulling timing to avoid melting themselves

But from what I have read, Ford used 87 to "certify" that averageish power level under normal conditions.

Without citing some sort of ford literature or something I have a hard time believing their marketing department would be choosing to advertise the trucks minimum output potential..

Ford is odd though, checking power specs for the ranger on their website.. ranger is listed at 270/310 with no octane info.. but they provide 87 AND 91 octane figures for the Bronco ?‍♀

Now that you've received all the technical answers there's really one way to achieve this.

Too late, I bought the truck December 31st and by January 4th you turned me to the damper club.

As much as I hate provoking the wizard that operates the electrical system on these trucks, I'm just going to get a tune after I finish getting supporting mods

That makes sense. Sheetz just opened a new location by my work and they have 90 e0 for only 10 cents more than 93 e10.
I use that for my lawn tractors since they were designed before ethanol was blended into gas.

Is Sheetz quality gas? I used the E88 twice to see how the truck responded an it was fine. I usually buy "top tier" gas....shell an sunoco usually. Mobile an Exon are hard to find around here.

I'm curious about getting a big more pep out of Shelly but am not interested in tuning just yet, any suggestions?

The FORD Performance tune is worth every penny. The shifting for me was also improved. I'm not a huge fan of the S'urprise option on the shifter so I just leave mine in D'o it mode.

I do have 20" rims, slightly bigger tires and a canopy on it and this last tank of Super I got 23 MPG.

I want a Ford tune so bad, more so because I want to see if it stops the transmission from shifting like crap, but the cheapest I found it is $675. That’s a lot of dough :/
675$ is a deal, the cheapest I found was in the 800$ range

Hummm. Ford say the shaft HP increases from ≈270 HP to ≈280 HP using premium. Where does the 310 extra hours come from? It doesn't even get there with E15 (the highest ethanol Ford recommends).

"Reccomended fuel" doesn't necessarily mean "fuel used to make advertised power"

Hell... considering ford reccomends 91 octane to tow with... "Reccomended fuel" doesn't even mean "reccomended fuel" ?‍♀
