I like that they are available on Ebay. and there are more than 1 for sale. I would go that route. Better to have than to not when your on side of the raod with a flat tire, that $125 well spent :sunglasses:

My only issue with the bottle jack is: where to store it?? Yes, depending on size, it might fit under the rear seat but otherwise it will just be "rolling" around somewhere. Like that one eBay ad for $124, just get it and be done (will help at resale time).

Would be interesting to get a poll of how many Ranger5G owners have had to use their jack for non-voluntary use. Just curious. I'll start: 0 times. A couple voluntary times in the driveway but that it.
Great question and zero times on the scissor jack, I should probably see if it needs oil, just in case ...

I use a bottle jack and floor jack in the driveway.

Oh, I lied! I did use it once when doing the rear shocks!

What's the purpose of that chain anyway?

If you have to ask ....

LOL, it's an homage to my glory days with the FJ40. I had a ship's mooring line with a 10" eye splice made by my dad and a short 2' chain, with hook, on the other end. The eye splice slipped over the FJ40 front bumper and I wrapped the rest in a figure 8. It acted as a push bumper and used quite a bit on the beach.

I had this chain from Harbor Freight that I used when I moved that FJ up to my daughter's house.

I like having some chains but was out of space in both swing cases and this seemed like an okay plan. Plus, it reminds me of my dad.

And, apart from all that, it always gets stares and I've had a half a dozen people ask me about it!

Funny part is the funnel was there, yes. Not sure how or why the jack & tools ended up missing, why the people who got rid of it would keep that stuff or if the Ford folks removed it at a some point. Who knows?
They might have moved it from under the rear seat for accessibility, and stuck it in a bed box instead. I had to do that when I installed the baby car seat because it was such a PITA to get to anything under the bench. Even though we've moved on to a booster seat that allows for much easier access to the under-bench storage, all of the stuff that was in there is still in my bed bin, and honestly, I'll probably forget to turn it in with the truck when it's time to trade it in. I'll just grab the bin and all of the stuff in it.
