Good stands are a must too. Over the years Ive seen way to many "cheap" jack fail either my own or friends when we use to wrench on stuff more. I know there's no guarantee an expensive one can't fail too but I just wanted something of better quality and I hate supporting the CCP. ??
Sad to say but lately I am finding most Chinese quality exceeds equivalent US quality if you compare apples to apples. Actually the Chinese supply many components to companies that now just say assembled in the US but advertise as made in the US. I blame it on the people we elect and buy for price now.

Don't worry about Chinese jacks, they last. Buy good jackstands and never get under a vehicle without them.
You bet, your's is literally advice to live by. ;)

I have these 40 year old beauties.

I searched everywhere and found these were the only ones now made in the US. Sad we've come to this! The reviews were great and many were from those using them for several years. The "supposed" better cheaper jacks all had spotty reviews were a lot had failed. My feeling is you buy a $40K+ vehicle spending $200 is a small price to pay for a good quality bottle jack.
$40K?!?

Soupie was $26K but then has close to $8-10K of added stuff!

The kicker with that is now Soupie weighs more than the $40K version! :D

I need jack stands for all the goodies you've suggested!

Something I have noticed with older equipment is they even made there labels & tags to last as long as the equipment. :like: :like::like:

I use a Powerbuilt Unijack. It is a combo jack stand and jack (see image). Theses are available at HomeDepot, Tractor Supply, Walmart, and Amazon. I keep it in a tote in the truck bed, along with other over-night/recovery gear. I have used it on gravel forest roads to change a tire and it was very stable. At home, I'll use them in pairs to lift the rear end (one on either side of the diff housing, along the axle, and pump in tandem).

And it’s actually affordable.
