Missing Cargo bed tie downs arrived

My 1st ranger had them alone they step up and make good on the missing 2l. The V2 only had 4 so the dealer removed two from my original truck and gave them to me. At least they did not remove from another truck on the lot and pass the problem to another buyer... I really like Vista Ford.

My XLT Sport has 4. Page 212 of the owners manual shows a picture with 6 but also states: "The number of tie down points may vary depending on your vehicle model"
I ordered 2 tie down hooks and 4 bolts online from a Ford parts place in New Jersey for around $35 shipped.

I have to still check with mine, however it seems some dealers are willing to cover the costs. I wish Ford Motors would step up and solve this mystery. Mine is an STX and has only four, i have read it depended on when model was made as perhaps it was a time oriented executive decision. A pickup bed needs tie downs one would think and as many as possible especially since the center ones are higher in placement. For a manufacturer of #1 trucks one would think this would be addressed immediately by them and put to rest with recalls for those of us who were shortchanged. This is not the way to do it with RANGER if they are hoping for a lot more of the TACOMA market sales. Not the best way to start off with a brand new vehicle.

Got a call from my local Ford Dealer today. The back ordered Bed Hooks and Bolts were ready for pickup.

They wrote it up as a Service Warranty Claim so there was no charge.

Here are the part numbers in case you need them:

Tie Down Hook - Ford (KB3Z-21550A74-A) $6.49 ea, Quan. (2) = $12.98
Tie Down Hook Bolt - Ford (-W505594-S450B) $3.90 ea, Quan. (4) = $15.60
__________________________________________________Total = $ 28.58

I need to buy a tap to chase the threads in the truck since the truck has the ford factory sprayed Toughbed liner in it.

I looked last night and my 10/4/2019 build only has 4, so I'll have to talk to the dealership about getting my middle ones as well.

I am looking for somewhere in the Ford site for info that says it comes with 6 and cannot find anything. If anyone can help me with that I would appreciate it. Thanks!

The Snap-On EPC catalog says mine should have had 6. I ended up just buying them out over the counter. I should have had them write up an RO!

My dealer is acting like they are not even in the parts system to order. I am still pushing to get them. Thanks for the information. I guess I am not familiar with the Snap-On EPC catalog.

I reread this post and it sounds like I am upset with my dealer. That is not the case...they just have not found them in the parts system from what I understand. I am still waiting to hear back from them..

Give them the part numbers listed above... dealers often need you to tell them what they are looking for.....

My extra tie downs came in today along with a tail gate damper. The Ford OEM damper was made by Dee Zee and installed in minutes. Two good additions.

Get the brochure for the 2020 RANGER and see what it says. Page 15 of the 2019 brochure said 6...
