Currently looking at trading my Civic for a new 2019 Lariat. Started by looking at this one https://www.corwinfordtricities.com/new-Pasco-2019-Ford-Ranger-Lariat-1FTER4FHXKLA50387 which seems to be a great deal. I'm hoping the various discounts and 0% interest will make it feasible. I have told myself that I want black leather, the FX4 and the B&O sound system. The Lariat is the trim I need because the one thing that is non negotiable is the smart entry along with the push button start. I have gotten way to used to not having to take my keys out of my pocket to get in and I hate having jingling keys hanging from the ignition. So anyway there are a few other ones they have on the lot that may work but I am not sure. I haven't been able to drive one yet because dealers in Washington are still closed. So the first question is the sound quality between the 6 speaker system that comes with the NAV and the B&O system. I mostly listen to rock and metal. I am not against upgrading the speakers and adding a small sub with the 6 speaker system. I upgraded to Focal speakers and a Rockville 10" sub to the Civic and it sounds pretty good. The next question is the FX4 package. I am not an offroader but my wifes family has a cabin in the mountains that we like to go to in the summer. The trail control intrigues me because there is a narrow, steep trail on the backside of the mountain that takes us to the tucannon river for fishing. If I got a model without FX4 would I regret it later? The grey one above checks all the boxes, second color choice (first is blue) and all the other features. The only thing I am not a fan of is the chrome package. It doesn't look too bad on a truck and I can cover the chrome bits with vinyl if I want. They also have a blue one I like but it has the lighter colored seats which just seems like I will always be cleaning them.

Their pricing looks decent to me. They're offering a high dealership discount, but keep in mind that the truck is already getting close to being two model years old (if that matters to you).

Not worried about that at all. It's still new so the warranty will be from date of purchase which would be my only concern. Doesn't seem to be any significant feature differences between the 2019 and 2020. The closest 2020 they have in equipment is $6000 more. For that kind of discount I am ok with it.

I agree with you. The model year wouldn't bother me that much either. I just thought I'd mention it.

That's seems like a lot of truck for $33.7K. Lariat FX4. I'm not sure you are going to find a deal that's a lot better than that one. Maybe a few hundred buck less, maybe?

The sound system won't blow you away, that's for sure. I would call it "barely adequate". Especially if you came from having Focal's (I'm preferable to the Utopia separates if you can mount them correctly).

Here in the PNW, that color will blend right in with the concrete, so if you're looking something that has a little "wow" factor or makes you happy looking at it, that won't be much of the color for that in anything but the absolute best of weather, assuming you washed it recently)

FX-4 has the different traction control settings and the 4 hi/low options which might not tick all the boxes for you, but when it comes time to sell, will be a solid option to have, not to mention letting you play a bit more with the truck. I find that when a vehicle has specific options or capabilities, even if they weren't my first choice, I want to go find a way to utilize the gadgets!

Thanks for the info. Blue is definitely my first choice. My civic is Aegean blue and it looks amazing right now. I just polished it and put on a coat of torque detail ceramic shine. The blue one is about $2000 more but I just don't like the lighter colored interior. After blue and magnetic, silver would be ok but our CR-V is silver and I just don't know if I want similar colored vehicles. The chili pepper red is way more orange in real life than in pics, white is just boring (although the metallic white is nice for white) and black, ugh, so hard to keep looking nice. As far as the sound system goes I guess I will just have to listen to them. The magnetic one may be the only one that makes sense financially so all these questions may end up being moot. It's a bummer not being able to just go over there and take one for a drive.

I have a 19' ranger lariat fx4, live in Colorado. I wish I had the speaker upgrade because the stock ones are garbage compared to the "premium sound package" I had in my Honda Civic. I wouldn't consider crawl control necessary unless you are doing some serious off roading, think "fins and things" trail moab, but prob fun to play with if u have it. Def get the keyless entry and keyless start. Hopefully one of these model years they will make the rear seat storage better, rear seats fold flat, and make the climate control buttons easier to see. Good luck, it's a sweet truck

I bought my '19 Lariat FX4 from a different Corwin dealership in Idaho about 3 weeks ago. Keep in mind that the price on the internet is only if you go with the hightest-rate financing Ford offers - 8-9%. If you opt for the 0%, suddenly lots of discounts disappear. I pushed pretty hard, and they were unwilling to budge much. I was able to get them to discount a little, but all the Ford-offered incentives go away if you don't finance.

I still did better with the 0% deal, even though the overall purchase price is higher than the purchase price with a high rate finance. I.e., my monthly payment is lower on the 0% financing than it would have been with a discounted purchase price + even 2.5% interest, let alone 8-9%.

Now, If you are planning to pay cash, go do the deal with the dealer at the highest discount they'll offer - if that means a 9% rate, that's fine. When the first payment comes due, just pay off the whole thing.

But if you are planning to finance it, get ready to pay $4-6k more than their "internet" price if you go with the 0% finance.

About the sound system, I have the 19 Lariat with the 501A package that gives a B&O Premium system.
I played with the sound system to see the best setting for me and I was shocked at how little adjustment they provide based on other vehicle's I have had. Very disappointing for a B&O system.

Another point that may interest you with regard to costs. I have spent another $1500 CND dollars in the past week for add on's just to make the truck usable friendly. I never experienced this before, This is my 1st truck, when buying a car it does not require much more then then all weather mats.

The description of the incentives listed leaves a lot of info out for sure regarding combining with financing. Our dealers are closed for at least another two weeks so I guess I will find out how desperate they really are. I have had a tendency to trade vehicles way too often and have a good amount of negative equity in the Civic. It really started when I traded a leased 2013 Civic for a 2014 Mustang. I loved the car but it was stupid because as my kids got older the backseat got more useless. Traded that for a 2016 Focus to be more practical but it was a piece of crap and started to have transmission problems (I didn't know about the powershift DCT problems when I bought it) at 12,000 miles which lead to the 2018 Civic, which I love but you can imagine a Focus doesn't hold value at all when traded in. But The Corwin discount covers the neg. so probably worst case scenario is I end up financing just about MSRP at 0% which is ok. Thankfully my computer repair business is essential so I am still working. The civic is tuned and is a blast to drive, I've just come to realize that a truck would be much more useful to me. Plus I can unlock the Ktuner from the Civic and use it on the CR-V and give it a little more oomph.

I wound up about $5K off of MSRP at 0%, with no payments for 120 days. I may have been able to do a little better if I waited a few more weeks, but I'm happy where the deal landed, and I LOVE the truck.

As Jimmy mentioned above: Keep in mind you'll likely want to add stuff to this thing as soon as you own it. In the few weeks I've had mine, I've already added:

Mud flaps
All weather floor mats
Spray in bedliner
Hard folding tonneau cover
Tailgate damper
Rock/Bug deflector
Bed lighting
Swing out tool case for the bed

Still on my list:
Center console organizer
Paint protection film on the front
Ceramic coating to protect the paint

I'm also considering a 2" leveling kit to reduce the rake a bit in the front.

Anyhow - I hope you get a fantastic deal. Good luck!

Thankfully most of that I can live without. The wife is already pissed I am looking into it because I promised I would keep the Civic longer than previous vehicles. That was before the current pandemic situation and the potential for the dealer giving a great deal. It is funny because some of the household projects she has been hinting at would be much easier with a pickup. It is not listed on the window sticker but it does already have the spray in bed liner so that is great. Only thing that is a priority is probably the tailgate damper.

Luckily, the damper is pretty inexpensive: https://www.deezee.com/sku/DZ43206/
