Jackery's portable charging stations deliver clean and green power anywhere you go.
JACKERY
A portable generator is one of those products you don’t think about until you need it. But once you need it, you really can’t live without it. For ten years, Jackery has been in the business of providing portable power and solar generators to adventurers, campers, tailgaters, busking musicians and anyone else who finds themselves without a place to plug in.

Established in 2012, Jackery was co-founded by a former Apple senior engineer, who helped pioneer the design and development of Li-battery technology. An early battery jacket the company developed for the Apple iPhone gave rise to the brand name, Jackery. The company is based in Fremont, California, with production in China, and continues to have an Apple-like vibe with its sleek and intelligent product line.

When you look at the portable generator market it’s easy to see what keeps Jackery running. Yes, the portability and price of its generators are hard to beat, and the design is quite stylish for something so utilitarian. But it’s the spirit of the company that sets it apart. You somehow get the feeling the people who run Jackery really enjoy getting off-the-grid and harnessing power from a bright orange box.

It’s also just an alluring line of products. Unlike the gas-powered generators you’ve seen at carnivals and construction sites, Jackery models like the popular Explorer 1000 are silent and don’t spew exhaust. They’re compact enough to carry to the beach or to the farmer’s market you booked your band to play this weekend. The units come with AC, USB-A, USB-C ports, and charge from any AC wall outlet. The Explorer 1000’s display is clear and user-friendly, showing battery life and input/output wattage. The rest is literally just plug and play. I wanted to learn more about the company so I corresponded with the Head of Brand Department at Jackery.
What was the moment of inspiration behind Jackery? The a-ha moment that first made you see the possibilities of a product like this?
Fossil energy has been stockpiled for hundreds of millions of years, and consumed by mankind over hundreds of years. The heat and carbon dioxide produced have upset the established climate balance and led to an increase in the earth's temperature, which we know as the greenhouse effect. We really believe that solar power, as a renewable and clean energy source, is the solution to today's energy crisis. What’s more, traditional generators are noisy, heavy and powered by diesel, so the need for a more user-friendly way of generating electricity gave rise to photovoltaic power. That is why we created solar generators.

Most people think generators are boring tech products but you’ve somehow managed to design and brand Jackery in a way that gives the products energy and personality. What went into branding the product as far as the brand story you wanted to tell?
A big part of it is really the environmental piece. The company was founded in 2012 in California by a group of adventurous engineers who believed in making electricity portable, clean, and outdoors-oriented. The vision was to offer green energy to everyone, everywhere. In 2016, Jackery launched the world's first outdoor portable power station and, two years later, developed the world's first portable solar panels. We stayed true to our original intention of doing something that makes sense for the environment. Having introduced solar generators to the outdoors, Jackery fulfills the power needs of every nature lover, inspiring them to explore further and seek more extraordinary experiences than before.
We’re truly committed to doing what’s right for the environment. Every ounce of weight has been reduced to make products lighter. Every percentage of power has been boosted to make products more efficient. And every single safety feature we can think of has been added. With our misson of providing green power everywhere, Jackery is now first in terms of retail sales volume globally. Since 2018, we’ve sold more than two million units worldwide.

Describe the typical Jackery customer? Who’s using these devices and how are they using them?
The Jackery Solar Generator is perfect for families and individuals who like to enjoy life outdoors. Whether you’re going camping, on an RV trip, or wish to explore untouched land, or even just stay in your backyard, you can find a reason to use us. Also, as an emergency backup, this product will ensure you have access to clean power always, both on and off the grid.
The Jackery series is widely used in emergency rescue, outdoor work, outdoor leisure and mobile office scenarios. When camping outdoors, the product is capable of charging 99% of electrical appliances to enhance the user's camping experience. It can also provide power support for medical equipment such as medical trolleys, ventilators, drones, digital products, electric blankets and other emergency equipment such as rescue inflatables, assault boats and drones, allowing rescue teams to carry out rescue work safely, efficiently and smoothly.
What’s the most popular Jackery model and why?
Consumers in different markets have different consumption habits and needs. Some users prefer high-power solar generators, while others prefer low-power ones. Our recent flagships 1000 Pro and 2000 Pro have a fast charging rate and are easier to use than previous models.
Can you share a favorite customer story or two about the joys of using the Jackery generator?
To be honest, it’s anyone who is active or travels extensively or camps away from any electric plug infrastructure. Jackery Power Stations have for years been a link to maintaining human comforts no matter where you are. Being able to plug in a smart phone, smart tv, powered antennas, USB fans or lamps or WIFI hotspot devicesjust really improves people’s experiences out in the wild.
What’s coming up for Jackery? Any new products we should be watching for?
In the next three to five years, our mainstream products will focus on solar generators. Many of our products upgrade each year, as we saw this year with the 1000pro and 2000pro. But we will continue to explore more renewable conceptual products, including wind and kinetic power products, such as Jackery Air-W, Jackery Space pro, and LightCycle S1. These were unveiled at this year's IFA consumer electronics show and expand the range of portable energy.

haha but not a plug in hybrid. the onboard power would be not great
The f150 isn't a plug in hybrid either. And it can power a house...

Edit: that's not he hybrid f150 though. I think that 9nes only got a tiny battery... ? The one I'm thinking has the 7+kw generator.

On week+ camping trips with some driving every day or every other, my truck bed 12v power tops off my Jackery 1500. Jackery is used primarily to power an Iceco JP50 fridge. Battery never drops below 80%. I sometimes deploy a Jackery 100 watt panel, which provides more power in direct sun than the fridge draws during heat of the day.

I don’t know what you’d need 1000 watts of solar for.

Jackery has converted the humble rooftop tent into a powerful solar generator that lets any car escape the grid for a weekend or longer. Although it’s just a concept on show at CES right now, Jackery says it will put the tent into production sometime near the end of 2024.

The retractable solar panels are said to produce up to 1000W when the car is parked and the tent is open and facing south.

this is what I do with my BLUETTI EB3A Portable Power Station | 600W 268Wh and portable 100 watt panels. Use it to keep my setpower Fridge/freezer running while re-charging EB3A. At night it keeps everything at the set temp, powers my RTT tent Light inside and charges any small devices.

Here is the Solar Panel I got. Works great!

I could buy a camper trailer with solar cheaper than this will be.
No climbing ladders,
Can piss inside
And I can leave it in place if I want to head out and do something

You are comparing apples to oranges though. Some people don't want a trailer like you're talking about, me included. I'm not saying this will be a stellar deal, but it will be good for people who don't want to pull a trailer.

Fun fact, you can pee inside nearly anything.... Male or female. They make things to do that.

Oh I agree.
Seems like some of these companies are pricing these things in the 4 bedroom house range anymore.
I'd take a reasonable price RTT tent. But would prefer a small trailer.

And yes, I can pee in my 2 man tent, doesn't mean I want to.
A bathroom is the only I'd get my GF in the woods :D
