So why the call to customer care? The dealer hasn’t had a chance to even look at the problem yet.

The call to customer care was to find out if I was going to be responsible for the full cost of the repair. I had heard about some customers getting payment relief from Ford. Bob Denver, Do you have nothing better to do than complain on people’s threads? Try and be helpful for a change.
Nope. Nothing better to do. Just trying to get the whole story. Most people don’t call Customer Care every time they have a problem. You have posted one thread and have already complained about several members. Just so I don’t upset you again I will put you on “IGNORE”

Have a great day.

It could also be a bug, dew, rain, leaf, maple tree helicopter, cat paw print, any obstruction on the glass, this is probably 95 percent or more causing the fault, had same issue, took it into ford they cleaned my cats paw prints off the glass and poof issue solved...

Imagine how silly I would have felt if I contacted the NHTSA to open a complaint and then found out that mice did this…

I dunno.... I think making critical parts of a vehicle out of mouse food should qualify as a safety issue.

the "camera" doesn't give us images but it is the lens in the black area of your windshield by the rear view mirror. the camera is there for the crash assist stuff, but we cant access the images.

I think of it more like a sensor, I don't think it captures what a real camera sees. And in my XL, it only does AEB stuff, no lane assist or sign reading.

Although, had I known the arm-atrophy action of the rear damper, lane assist would have been helpful!
