I usually average about 8K a year. This year was more because I racked up 5,000 miles in June on our trip. lol

That's how it was when I lived back in MA. I was in the country and everything was 10-15 miles away. Here everything is right in the area all within a few miles.

ah i gotcha i live about 30mins from work since most areas around it are really crappy or on the other state side and its pricey...

but its better then my 50min drive i use to have lol

"Ford Boss Me" on U tube is starting a series on oil(personally I would rather run barefoot thru a minefield, than bring up oil), and he is sending out new oils for lab testing and comparing the additive pkg. So far, Castrol Edge is his favorite, but he just picked up Wall-Mart, O'Reilly, and Advancd and Fram, so stay tuned.
If you ever want to do something "exciting", go to The Studebaker Drivers Club Forum, and bring up the subject of oil. Then stand back and watch the fur fly!

project farm on you tube has some great oil test videos as we know. one recent video was testing high mile blends vs. regular. turns out both were ok to use in motors ?

I had a Mazda 6 I bought with 115K on it. MY boys drove it during high school and college. I checked the oil once after they had it about a month an it was over a qt low. I called for 5w20. I ran high mileage 5w20 in the winter an 5w30 in the summer. It seems to use less oil with the high mileage stuff but not a lot. They drove the snot out of the car an you had to add a qt a month, with the high mileage stuff it was more like every 6 weeks.

I went to see them at school once an that poor car had less than 22 pounds of air in 3 of the 4 tires an the oil wasn't touching the dipstick. Sad for a couple of mechanical engineering students!

IMO don't use it unless the engine leaks or uses oil.
