Winter prep?

You mean tossing the predator call in the truck along with loaded magazines full of ballistic tips that are in the pockets of your snow camo?

Can't be too careful in the winter, you never know when you're going to need to coyote or bobcat hunt!

My vehicles are outside, and I use a foam snow broom for the heavy stuff. There are many brands, but this is the brand I have,

It's several years old, and hasn't scratched the paint yet.
In law gave me one ,she did not tell me what it was ,, so I figured it was a trick to scratch my paint . Guess I should thank her now .

After you brush of the snow, clean off your snowbrush. Then it won't be all crusty if you need it later in the day. I also put mine on the passenger side floor, bristles up tucked under the dash. Melts all the remaining snow out while you drive. One more good one: keep your floor mats dry. During the "heat"of the day, moisture will go up, through your vents and frost the hell out of your windshield. I used to just select my vents to come out the front instead of defrost so that there wouldn't be a direct air path, but now with climate control and autostart, I want it to warm up the windshield when I start it up remotely. Pick your battles, I guess.

I always park with the W/S toward the sun so the nice warm sun can warm up the truck. Yes we do get cold in the winter, a little.
But, if you are thinking about moving to AZ , DONT, AZ is full of Kalifornians now.

I lived in Northern Utah for six year while going to school. Now live in SE of Yellowstone. Yeah, I know snow. If you are in Cedar City or south to St George, your worry is not snow as it won't stick around long...you need to worry about old farts like me behind the wheel. Last time I got gas at Costco in St George I looked around and I was the youngest guy there and hell, I'm old. Southern Utah is like Mesa, AZ in the winter (the older I get the less critical I am of old people).

Maybe.
But, in my experience it's not us old farts that you have to be concerned about.
We know that driving in snow is different, from experience.

It's the young folks that think they can drive like it's July because of their AWD, 4WD, etc.
They don't seem to understand that stuff doesn't help you STOP.

Those are the folks that worry me.

I still love winters. The beauty, the challenges, all of the new set of activities you can do. I have friends that come spring time, can’t wait for winter to come back, so they can go sledding or skiing.

It helps not having to commute to work and it helps having a garage to keep the truck In, but other than that, you throw on some extra clothes and go about life and have fun.

I spend a lot of time ice fishing, once the ice is safe. Also once it is safe, I take my ATV, and I plow a path from a public landing and then all around a half mile long Island and my ice fishing areas. People then use the path for walking, or cross country skiing. On the weekends lots of being gather around where we are ice fishing and we have a good social time.

The snow is very clean, and makes everything more quiet as it absorbs sounds. It is all very peaceful. During the winter, I am outside for almost all of the day doing something, just like I am during the summer.

I am big on where ever you live has it’s beauty and special character and there is no place like home. So we all live in great places and they all have their challenges.

(Except for maybe Maui, I could not find any challenges in Maui)
