Not trying to jinx myself, but my trial should have ended in July. I had this happen once before when they were two different companies. My XM was working for free for years until I sold the boat that had the receiver in it.

Evidently XM has changed their free trial period from 6 months to 3 on purchases of a 2021 Ranger.

My mom bought a used Buick once that had XM activated for the entirety of the 6 years she owned it. She never made an account or paid a dime. I'm hoping the previous owner wasn't getting billed every month but that's on them if they were and didn't do anything about it.

This belongs on the "Pre COVID" thread ?

I bought the trial for $5.99/month after my 6 month trial expired. I set an alert on my phone for 1 year to remind me to contact Sirius, as the plan would begin charging me around $25/month after the $5.99 expired.
At the 1 year mark I called them. I told the Sirius dude i wasn't going to pay the $25/month. He said "Let me put you on hold." He came back with "Since you're such a valued customer, we can provide you the service for $12.50/month." I said "Nah... still too much.
He said "Let me put you on hold." He came back with "We'd like to keep you as a customer. We can provide you the service for $7.50/ month for 1 year."
Sold.
I set an alert 1 year from now.
Moral of the story..... Call them or be prepared for jacked up recurring payments.

When I had my 2013 F150 the same happened to me. Although it was the other way around they were calling me trying to get me to continue my subscription. I had them all the way down to $4.99/month and I still kept saying no. The guy was getting frustrated and said "what's it going to take for you to sign" I said $0/month and that was the end of it, they never called again. lol

I listen to the sports talk channels on there. The music does repeat but they seem to shift the songs they repeat every month or two. I have 8 music channels I listen to of various styles so it's still a much better varieties. The bare bones $5.99 discounted plan I had didn't include NFL or Barstool sports or Howard Stern (don't listen to him anyway). I think they just increased their rates. One of my friends on facebook blasted them. I'm paying $15 for total access plus access on my phone an computer.

My wife negotiated a deal with them for $6 per year for my Ranger and her Caddy! I can live with that!

Per year? I think you mean per month. :)
I just checked with her and she said it was either a month or a year, she wasn't sure. I AM sure she is still a blond!

I was actually looking on how to purge it out of my computer.
I don't use it and never will, but everytime I start the truck and plugin the phone, it defaults to the XM radio audio channel first. I have to suffer through THREE channels of garbage obnoxious ads before I get to the phone audio source (a big reason I don't listen to radio in the first place).
If the phone is unavailable, it defaults to XM again. Instead of allowing me to choose the default.

Howbout no. Believe it or not, this vehicle doesn't belong to Sirius. It belongs to me.
I'll probably find out how to get rid of it with obs or something. This is a big overreach by that company; they have no legal right to inject advertisements into my personal property without my consent. I didn't sign anything on any dotted line giving Sirius ad rights on my truck.
