These are all 'maybies' and trial and error replies.
How much time and money should I invest in a brand new truck when Ford has clearly sold me a dud. The point in detailing the experience is in case others have had the same experience.
There is this droning aggravating noise constantly coming from under the driver dash.
It is almost always while accelerating. Has this intermittent subtle sound like it's a computer chip processing.
It comes and goes while driving and doesn't really have a rhyme or reason.
It's not very loud...
Cool. So I'm thinking I'm going to get a quote on a fix instead of try it myself.
Sounds like it's beyond me without experience.
If it ends up over $1k, I'll go through insurance, pay the deductible and the builder will be in trouble at that point.
My truck is buck central too. 2019 XLT, 18k km.
From park, put it in drive but keep the brake on; not going anywhere yet. Buck.
Foot on the gas a little bit, but change my mind and have to brake instead. Buck.
Cold weather. Always buck.
Any gas pedal pressure that isn't 100% steady and...
Renter, and it is parked on the street; city property.
Solutions here are good; assuming I'm actually an upper middle class person that has money to burn. The pain started back when I figured as an uneducated tradesman in 2020, that I could have nice things. Apparently it doesn't work like that.
... you don't say
Actually it looks like there is another dent under the driver door handle that I'm just seeing now.
But I'm pretty sure most consumer grade vehicles are no better. The thing about the ranger is it sounds like a tin can when you close the door (and sounds like an explosion...
Ya. Did a block sweep already. Asked everyone. No luck. Our doorbell has a motion detection camera that records with movement, but it's retarded. It will notify your phone when a squirrel jumps around the trees, but my truck getting a surprise man basket up the butt didn't trigger...
Ya. Problem is good work isn't cheap. I have to do this myself.
You know, cause I decided to have a shiny truck instead of money in the bank. That was real bright.
Ya I already thought of that when I first saw it. In my brilliance, I took pictures of the wrong corner of the man basket.
The next day I confronted the sider who was using it.
Then later I realized my error and when I went out to see the offending corner, the whole man basket was crystal...
I was actually looking on how to purge it out of my computer.
I don't use it and never will, but everytime I start the truck and plugin the phone, it defaults to the XM radio audio channel first. I have to suffer through THREE channels of garbage obnoxious ads before I get to the phone audio...
Yikes. It's a new truck.
The finish on my black running boards are already starting to chip off too. It's a 2019, so only been three years. :(
This Ranger is starting to become more trouble than it's worth.
So the sub trades building houses across the street nailed my truck with their genie lift man basket. The scratch directions and them being full of mud when I found it tells the story. They deny it of course and without video evidence, there's a $1k insurance deductible that makes me fix this...
