I have 2019 XLT 4X2 with about 30,000 miles on my BFG KO2 265/70R17 and love the ride of the them.

Is that stock suspension? That looks good.

I decided on the LT265/65 18 BFG K02's with the "E" load rating. Actually, that's the only load rating you can get from @Discount Tire on a 265/65 18 tire. When physically comparing the Toyo Open Country to the K02 you can see and feel the build difference. Honestly, they feel absolutely great on the road. You can definitely tell the Ranger has more of a truck feel....but she rides down the road smooth and it's definitely not a harsh ride like I read on a couple of reviews in here. Now I have aftermarket rear Eibach pro truck shocks...but I'm stock FX4 in the front. I took her up to about 94 mph on the interstate going home yesterday and she rides just great at speed. The big test was the Mrs. this morning in her first commute since the tire change and she was great with the ride......so I'm sold on K02's so far.....here are some pics.

I'll agree there - E is LESS prone to puncture than C1. Thicker heavier carcass, more plys, etc.

However... The C1 is still an off road tire and still does well off road. I wheel mine all the time with confidence and security. Also the E rated tire is meant for a heavier vehicle exerting more force on a tire that's rolling over sharp rocks. Ranger weighs 4,400 lbs and a Dodge Ram 2500 can weigh almost double that at 8,500 lbs. So I wouldn't throw a C1 rated tire on a Ram and I wouldn't put E rated tires on a Ranger.

When a vehicle is properly equipped with the right tires (Ram with E and Ranger with C1) the chances of puncture are about the same. And anyone who exhibits poor off-roading skills can trash a tire regardless of how well made it is.

I'm an 80/20 guy. 80% on road, getting to Home Depot, occasionally the office, and road trips to go camping / fishing - then 20% off road. I'd much rather have a C1 rated tire and drive it smart off road than abuse my MPG, ride comfort, and add unsprung weight to the axles than drive around on E rated tires at 80PSI. Everything in life is a compromise. I don't find the additional puncture resistance of an E tire over a C1 tire to be worth all of the things you have to sacrifice to run it. Your mileage may vary.
Hey Greg, I really appreciate your input. I was a little worried about putting the "E" rated K02's on after I read that post. I guess it's the rear Eibach upgrade but I'm a bit surprised the front setup feels as good as it does. I've got the Eibach front adjustable shocks, the spring set and the rear block set to get another inch lift in the cart on the Eibach website right now ($638 with shipping). After driving the Ranger for a few days with the new tires I'm really not sure I need to do the upgrade right now to be honest. So far, I'm happy and so is the Mrs. that drives her everyday. Definitely not rattling her teeth at all.
