I get 17.3 at 18k miles. It's getting a little better now that I'm using 91, since it's only 10 cents more and I'm not driving like a complete idiot all the time.

same here even this close to the refineries :p

1.65 or so for 87, about 2.20 to 2.40 a gallon for 93 depending on where you're at. you can find it cheaper at places like Sams Club most of the time or go to like Kroger and use your fuel points to get it cheaper.

This is *crazily* location *and* station dependent.

The best I've personally seen is $0.20/gal difference between 87 and 91/93, but generally I see $0.20-0.40/gal difference out here, but there are some stations that charge a $0.90/gal premium for...premium. Just have to shop around, less than $0.50/gal difference isn't hard to find.

Why would I make that up? lol. I live on a tiny island with the largest oil refinery in the western hemisphire. It's about the same price and those are the two choices.

Between 60-70 cents more for premium 93-94 over 87 Octane here in South Florida. 30-40 cents per gallon for mid grade which is 89-91 Octane. The 91 is hard to find even though it's preferred by Ford. I got a tune from Unleashed and while others report better mileage I think my problem is my lead foot and the larger diameter Magnaflow exhaust which I think allowed more power = not as good economy.

Highway at reasonable speeds (70 MPH max) gives me just over 26 MPG.

Commuting at variable speeds on/off highways gas got me barely over 17 MPG.

28 MPG highway using cruise control whenever possible with 87 octane on a recent trip from VA to IL and back. Never went more than 5 MPH over the speed limit (old guy who drives like a mushroom). I drive 3 hours highway to work every Monday and the same home the following Monday without cruise control and still average 27+ MPG. Stop-go driving I'm averaging 24 MPG. I never "get on it" or go way over the speed limit.

This thread caused me to join Sam's Club since it is on my route. Premium 93 Octane for 14 cents per gallon more than 87 at the station I've been using...

There are other reasons, but cheap premium was the clincher. The power of the turbo compels me.

You're lucky, that's a great price. Sams out here is a 0.40 difference between 87-91. But that's still better than Fry's where premium is $2.77.9/gal. Gas was 0.30 - 0.40/gal cheaper when I first moved out here then something happened (supposedly) to a couple refineries out in CA and then ours shot up in price and never came back down!
