Ok. Today I ordered a smittibuilt high lift jack. For simple fact that floor jack will not get tire off ground placed under the frame. That being said. Where would I place the high lift on the Ranger? I dont have sliders. Did i waste my money?

Ummm well, yes you do kind of have to have a very rigid outer surface to use a High-Lift (Plate bumpers or rock sliders). But you may add those someday so I wouldn't call it a waist, just consider it an investment.

A noticed a accessory kit online. Looks like it has some straps and stuff. Maybe could strap it to the tow hooks on front?? I have a d ring shackle conversion up there. I guess not a total waste. I've seen videos were they have been used to winch truck out when stuck. Oh well you live and you learn

Hi-Lift jacks are best used on strong steel (AKA aftermarket, IMO) bumpers that are strong enough to withstand the force. The frame-mounted factory tow hitch is the only spot I would trust on my truck.

EDIT: Tow hooks too, with the right accessories.

Will the factory jack get the 32 inch tires off the ground with a level kit on the truck? I've never got it out. Just was on the trails this weekend and was wondering? What if I have a flat? Will my jack even get me off the ground?

I do plan on sliders at some point.

It should. Maybe not using the frame as a jack point but you could go under the axle or lower control arm

I've seen a few different overland videos about equipment and jacks where they state a bottle jack tends to be more useful for a variety of situations. The high lift style of jacks definitely have their advantages, but it seems less so for moderately modified off road vehicles.

That's what I had to do when I was in the garage. Being I like to run forest roads and trails in my area if a flat occurs dont want to be SOL . Anyone with a similar issue?

Right now I have a 12 ton bottle jack and a 4x4 wood block in the bed. Don't look very nice and bounces off road haha

I build tour buses and they throw them out. Freebie hahaha. But we could try to lift a few at one time.
