Heated seat stuck on with smoke smell

Anyone ever had their heated seat get stuck on and start smoking?
The dealer is a week behind so I won't know the actual cause until they get a chance to look at it

I use my heated seats A LOT and haven't seen an issue. Now I'm gonna be playing with them.

There must be a short somewhere. I've used them for hours on high with no issues.

When you say "stuck on" do you mean you can't turn it off with the switch?

Correct, the switch would light up for low, medium and high but when in the off position the seat heater was still very much on.

Either pull the fuse or if you must continue to use the heated seat avoid foods that cause excessive flatulence.

That sounds like what mine is doing. At least I'm not the 1st.

Sometimes my back hurts so bad I go for a drive because the heated seats are better than a heating pad. I feel for you, man!

I don't know anything about heated seats in new vehicles, but in an older vehicle I owned, there was a thermostat in the seat that malfunctioned/wore out and caused it to not turn off.
I tore the seat apart, removed the thermostat and hardwired the heating element.
