I never understood the thanking a Veteran, it always makes me uncomfortable.

I think better thanks would be living a life worthy of the people that gave theirs for your freedom.

I can imagine that must have sucked. I was yelled at in airports in the 90s, but not very often. I would think getting yelled at often would take a hell of a toll.
