Happy birthday Chris @Chris M who's 65 today. Time sure does fly by and one minute you're young with a whole life ahead of you and the next you're sitting there saying "what the heck happened to the last 30 years" . I know you're counting down the days 'till retirement and trust me they'll go by fast so enjoy today and all the years ahead !

When you texted me this morning I was out doing my daily drive which you'll be able to enjoy doing soon enough.

Being self employed I never really had a set date. I just kept going until one day after moving to Arkansas I realized I was done with it and I wasn't going back to work. I thought about it a few times but after 6 months went by and I got use to it that thought went away quickly! I guess it was nice that way because I think (for me) watching a calendar or countdown clock would make it seem longer. Annie's asked me several times if I miss work? NO! I admit I do miss the interaction with some of the guys on the job site because we had fun and there were some great guys on all the different sites I was on.

I just had lunch with some guys I used to work with - I told them that in the 9 months since I retired there has not been one day that I've been bored. Do I miss work? Hell No! Do I miss some of the PEOPLE I used to work with? Yes.

For me, retirement is everything I'd hoped it would be - I should have done it years ago (but I couldn't afford to)

Retirement - its a great gig if you can swing it!
