While I'm all for it I'm not holding my breath. It doesn't seem like any of the courts want to hear these cases or do the right thing. It's to hard to elaborate any more without getting political. :lipssealed:
You're right, Dave. Nothing more to be said here about that without getting way political.

I wish I had more money for guns and ammo. The more I look at my gun porn magazines, the more I want to spend on them.

For those of you that might have 10mm weapons, can you tell me why they are so often referred to in the magazines as good weapons for defense against bears and such, but not humans?

Just curious...

I don't own any 10mms but my guess would be over penetration?

I know one of the main reasons the FBI got away from 10mm was the recoil made handling 10mm guns a PITA. I can imagine that recoil leads to slower, less accurate follow-up against a human threat. Thus the .40 was born!

That’s my favorite story about firearms. I shot a 10mm once. Killed my hand for the day. It’s got a lot of recoil.

I've read the used market for .40's is flooded because many agencies went to 9MM for capacity an cost. The new ballistics on the modern 9 rounds are improved enough to not need the 40's.

You almost have to pay someone to take .40 brass these days. It’s not just that departments are dropping .40 to go back to 9mm, consumers are ditching it as well.

I sold mine. Had S&W M&P in .40. I picked up a small 9 for carry an a 9 carbine so I decided to ditch it an not have to worry about finding that ammo. It was a nice weapon.

I have a .40 barrel for both of my Phoenix Trinity Honchos, but sold my old .40 STI and everything else .40 related.
I have a single .45 1911 left because it’s threaded and fun with a can on it, plus it’s essential to own a .45 1911 if you want to be considered a man.

Everything else is in 9mm as far as pistols go, and pistol caliber carbines and SBRs. The new Hornady, Speer, and Precision Delta bullets are ballistically impressive. If you reload, you can buy Precision Delta 124gr JHP projectiles and push them to about 1125-1150fps and they should be as good as any carry ammo sold.

I have a cheapie 1911. I traded my Sig C3 for a 226 an I missed having a 1911 so I picked up a import. I'll get a better one some day or maybe pick up some upgrade parts for it. It's a solid shooter. I also have a .357 because I wanted to have one revolver. I can't hit squat with it with that 2" barrel. It's my "truck gun". I may replace it with a 4 or 5 inch barrel .357 or just throw that import 1911 in.

Agreed. A 1911 and revolver are both on my list for when I grow up.

I did the same and everything I own now is in 9mm, .22 or 5.56. Having smaller hands and a bad wrist the .40 was a little to "snappy" for me. Then when ammo became scarce back in '08 I sold off my .45's/.40's and consolidated everything. I would like to get a 1911 in .45 just to have one. All mine now are in 9mm and I love them!

Heck when my neighbor passed away last year his wife gave me his S&W .40 and 150 rounds of ammo. I honestly didn't even want it but they're Canadian and she couldn't take it back with her. I sold it to a customer of mine for $100 just to get rid of it. lol

The only .40 I have left is my first duty pistol ever issued to me - Glock 22. I sold my Just Right Carbine in .40 and my Glock 27 back-up a long time ago. I was issued a Glock 35 at one point in my past career but ended up trading that for a Glock 34MOS. I also went to a Glock 43 for back-up (agency issued). When I retired I was gifted that Glock 34mos and bought my own Glock 43 to replace the one I had to turn in.

I'm hoping I might be able to snag a Glock 45MOS that's being sent to us for T&E. ?

i hate to see the 40 drop out of favor. ive always kinda liked it. felt it was a good in between round compared to 9x19 and 45acp. I know modern ammo etc. i get it. but id be willing to bet if in attacker is not slowed by a 40 a 9x19 will not do the trick either. seems like speed vs weight is the never ending study when it comes to rounds. i do admit that the 40 is more snappy than some rounds in the same arena but ive always leaned more toward heavy than fast. Im old enough that i do not fully trust a 9x19 unless im able to get the very best ammo but young enough that anything wssm gap sig tcm etc is not even a round worth looking into for anything more than fun lol. i find 45 acp is easier on my hands and wrist to shoot than 9 x19 and 40. this will sound silly but the 9 and 40 seem like a barrel raising SNAP, upward whip feeling while the 45 acp feels more like a shove backwards on the hand, less barrel raise less whip crack feel but more stout feeling on the hand. hard to explain. im guessing a lot of it is what the rounds are coming out as far as the difference in feel.
