Im not sure I agree with that internet search. Our stock ECU tunes for 93 and 87... It will automatically detune the engine for 87, it must have automatic knock sensors... So with a tune, id expect the same system to work.

A tune overrides the stock programming. To what extent on a technical level I don't know. But there is a reason that they sell tunes for the various gas you can buy.

Guys, let's be fair, she clearly had the foresight to double-wrap the gasoline, two bags, not one, and she seemed to have a third bag available, just in case. So it is not like she was being careless or irresponsible in transporting gallons of gasoline in her car's trunk....

Reduce consumption and ups power. That right there is a major red flag. Forget and move on.

That is a three-pronged approach by my count, but doing all three at once is well-nigh impossible, and buying one of those things looks like "three strikes, you're out" [of money]!

I would not try it. It sounds like a “gimmick product” like the old “Tornado Gas Saver” for carburetors. Plus my OBD2 is taken up by my Metromile car insurance device. Yes, I pay by mile for insurance; when you drive as little as I do it is a large savings per month.

Not going to risk trying on my Ranger, I’ll try it on my 2002 Honda Odyssey with 245,000 miles. And report back if there is any savings.

As if Ford Engineering could never figure that out. If it was that easy the manufacturer would have already done it.
The only reason fuel consumption is reduced and power is up is because your wallet is lighter.

Same boat here, 93 is about $3.10 and also 93 is the last to go empty everyone wants to snatch up the cheap 87.

Yet another self-inflicted shortage by low information voters; same as the whole toilet paper debacle...

Will never forget the toilet paper debacle. Hand sanitizer was being hoarded as well… soap ? remained in stock ??‍ Can’t expect people to make rational decisions when being driven by fear. As far as octane, premium is all I’ll ever put in any turbocharged engine; not saying anyone that doesn’t is wrong by any stretch.

I would have loved to stick with premo, but the pumps ran out and are still out of it where I am, if they have gas at all! ?
