The 9500 synthetic you linked on eBay is also available on Amazon for the same price. Might spring for it there. For my Jeep, not my Ranger. I think I'd want the 12k for my Ranger.

awesome I hope we get decent products. for the price and shady name brand im not expecting a lot lol but easily refunded if they are junk. I would also go the 12k route for the ranger. the 9500 would likely be fine but id rather have more winch than needed than not enough esp. on a gamble brand winch. less strain on the 12k to pull the ranger than the 9.5k to pull it. less heat less drain on the trucks battery etc.

Winch came in today, felt like a kid at Christmas lol. I was ready to be very underwhelmed upon opening and inspecting what showed. However, im very surprised. All the parts seem sturdy and well made. No cheap sharp edges or flimsy parts. Came well packed nothing missing. Only thing i dont like is the ugly branding all over and the wireless remote seems dainty. It showed up working and with batteries so i will wait to pass judgment till its all installed and pulling. So at this point not load tested i feel like i got a deal. Out the door under 200. Once i get to try it out i will say if its still a deal or 189 dollar paper weight lol.

so far the winch works perfectly, all the features work including the cheapo wireless remote. maybe next weekend i can put it up to a test under a good strain and see how it holds up.

Don't forget to tension your new synthetic winch lines after install, with at least 1,000 lbs on the bottom 2 layers.

Also I recommend getting a strap type anchor. Personally I recommend installing before needing it, but at the very least have one for emergency repair in the field.

Well today the Brown Clown came to Town.

Initial impressions are very good, nay excellent for what I paid. $155 delivered.

I have a winch thimble on order to replace that hook.

Nice and long power leads that will make locating the control box easy.

you are very welcome ! i hope it works out well for your jeep. I wish mine was branded the same as yours is lol. mine has the older label that says F.R.O.M. or something all over it. Im gonna peel them off as they look stupid lol. I expected to buy power cables etc. but they were in the box. about 7 foot of hot and ground 2 ga.

got a chance to give the winch a test with a load last night. worked perfect maybe a lil overkill on the truck it looks huge. I think with mount and winch front end sits about an inch lower lol. I am thinking about bumping up the battery charge in forscan. pulling last night with headlights on it was easily noticeable that the head lights dimmed when the winch was running.

update for the winch emailed them and told them i had a problem with the winch rope. i didnt add any details... thankfully they didnt even ask. they got a new one on the way via ups no charges at all not even for shipping.

and the problem with the winch rope... was me. did something stupid last night. required drilling. about half way into the metal i tell myself i should ease up before breaking through so i dont drill into the winch line accidentally. had too much beef on the drill already... almost down to the last wrap my winch rope now has a nicely drilled hole all the way through.
