Ok, finally heard back from the manufacturer about the red vs blue seals. Looks like I actually have the latest and greatest version. I will also add I think I actually do notice some enhanced turbo response.
"Thanks for reaching out

In our pursuit for perfection we’ve recently adopted more modern production methods and sustainable materials that have allowed us to evolve our piston seal technology. By changing to a blue VITON seal, we’ve been able to ensure that we’re still able to guarantee the same performance and durability at our high-quality standards. Performance without compromise.

Thanks,
Tesh"

I installed mine today as well. I am tedious as crap, so it took me longer than 5 minutes. I was trying like crazy not to damage the original as the directions suggested, and although I noticed it starting to crack as I was removing it, I think it is still reusable if needed.
I was also not sure I was assembling the new one correctly. Everything seemed ok, but I was afraid the plunger that you were supposed to oil was going to fall out as you inverted it to install it. The provided illustrations were not very visually accurate. But it seemed to be fine.
I also didn't know the supplied screws were Torx. All I had was screwdriver type Torx, so I just hand tightened the after they bottomed out.
I haven't driven it yet, but I started it in the driveway and revved it and put it in gear and power braked it a couple of time just to see if it would throw a CEL. It didn't. I will be driving it tomorrow for about 100 miles or so, we'll see!
Edit: so all the pictures show the bottom of the plunger on the engine side to be solid red. Mine was all metal with a blue O-ring.
This is me too - very thorough! =)

I wouldn't sweat it. Pretty soon we'll hear how the blue vitron didn't hold up and switched back to the red thing.

I would not doubt you. If they had just updated their install instructions to show the blue vitron, I could have saved a lot of time on this forum.

Hey I would be concerned too. My butt dyno is either more calibrated than yours, or I drank the koolaid. But I was saying it was awesome and you didn’t notice much. Now others with the mystical blue disk can feel good because of your question.
