Got my DV+ in this evening and went right at it. I got it used from a member here and it looked to be in like new condition, so I was really happy about that. It was missing one of the screws but I did have a bag of m6x1x35 socket head cap screws in my garage. The install, as noted in the posts here, is ridiculously simple. I used Amsoil 5w30 to lube the piston and I am positive that is why I'm fast asf now. lol

At the moment im running my 93 livernoise tune.
Took it for a spin with mindset that this was not going to really improve anything. I'm a bit jaded with the internet and the "gotta have this part" stories. Well....I was wrong. The acceleration is smoother as the RPMs climb, I don't feel the slight hesitation that I used to feel. Almost like it was struggling with not enough fuel or spark. Right before the shift point there would be a slight jerk. It was not "bad" but I could feel it, again similar to not enough fuel or spark. I just figured it was maybe the transmission being quirky. I do not feel that now. It's all smoothed out and the throttle response is quicker. I won't say its faster but I will say its a much improved driving experience.

If the DV+ stays reliable and has my Ranger running like it is now then it was well worth the $65 and I'll also it is worth the money at full price.

Side note...... My Truck has 98k on it and it is possible my stock diverter valve might have been bleeding off a bit.

Good review thanks. Im in the same mileage range as you and plan on doing this soon.
I hope it works out for you man. I hesitate to recommend mods because it varies so much from person to person.

Tomorrow I'll be doing my normal routine mix of stop/go city and hwy driving. Hoping it's a positive experience.

Your not wrong. My idea of good improvement might be complete garbage to you. But I have a feeling this will give that sharper feeling I am after like you described.

Did it change or add any noise?

Nothing I could hear from the inside of the truck while driving. With the hood popped up it does sound a little different but nothing worth noting.

Now my 15yo son's eyes lit up and he got all excited about the sound. I'm not sure what he heard.lol

The important thing is your son got excited about an engine upgrade. Way to go being a Dad!

Yeah, trust me, I get it. If only he was around when I was 15yo when I spent a few hours cutting the cat off my 92 firebird with a little hand saw. Then gutting the insides out with a jack handle and mallet. I'm pretty sure me and my friend inhaled a good bit of that crap.lol...didn't matter though. We had that 190hp 305 screaming all the way to the muffler shop and loved every minute of it. Lol
