I assume you'll need to load an APP on SYNC3 for it to work? Sounds neat, but Ford limits what APPs will run on the infotainment screen. Maybe SYNC4 will be more APP friendly.
I was thinking the same thing actually. So I downloaded the app. It shows up in my AA screen and I can select it as well. Unfortunately I don't have a unit to install.

My next question is you don't need a fuse between the Power Switch and lets say a light bar?

To answer your question you shouldn't have to worry about it. The Power Switch should have it internally protected for each circuit at a preset amperage. The service manual for it should specify.

EDIT: just checked the website and all switches are rated up to 30 amps each. There is a possibility you can bring that down internally with programming, but I would verify first.

If you actually need more than 2 30A circuits (or the possibility of more flexibility with circuit output), the Garmin is still going to be the better choice, since the Trigger controllers only have 2x 30A circuits, and they've got a notable disclaimer NOT to change the fuses to different ratings.

You could also just add a relay, and use the remote switch to trigger the relay . . .

It is an option, more cumbersome, but it would work.

Everyone will have different needs. Put simple that is what Garmin has their unit rated at.

Honestly that would be a bit silly unless you need it for a circuit that draws more than 30 amps

you mentioned the manual saying not to change the fuses out - using a relay means you wouldn't have to risk melting (or burning your truck down) your 500 dollar switch box . . . that was my only point. :)

That is how I ran the switching in my Subi - relays under hood, and a single wire into the cabin to switch the ground . . . not an ideal solution to switch ground, but it worked for me at the time. (I would not do that (ground switching) in my fancy schmancy truck.)

I did not say that, it was a different individual. You got that one mixed up.

What I did say is to verify in the manual for the Garmin as it may allow a different level of protection through programming. An example would be switching it from a 30 amp to a 10 amp rating if the load requirement is only 10 amps.

If a load requirement is more then 30 amps then chances are you need a dedicated circuit for that unit

Well shat on a turkey.

I mushed you and mtbikenates posts together in my mind...

If you combine both the posts and my reply makes much more sense... ?

OK I am going to take another sumatriptan now...

I installed the PowerSwitch ove the last couple of days. It’s awesome and worth each penny it cost. The app shows you total power draw when activated, so you know how much power each channel is taking. My arb single compressor is wired directly to the battery and the relay is connected to the PowerSwitch (the compressor takes too much amperage, so direct wire is necessary).

previously, I had each device on a relay and individual switch. Below is how much wire I was able to remove from the truck.

as for why this is even more worth it, you can setup conditional triggers. IE; I can tap into the brights and make it automatically turn on all front facing lights when the brights turn on. I use the auto brights feature, so this would be handy. Also, I can make a custom button that controls more than 1 thing at a time. One button to turn on my light bar, 7” rounds, and ditch lights.

the app is intuitive and the CarPlay integration is clutch.

Also, if you need more than 6 switches, you can pair 4 of these units all in the same app. Expandability is big for me too. I’m using 4 of 6 right now, but I have 2 more items I want to wire up. Plus, if you run a chase light, the PowerSwitch will control the stobing.

It's been a bit, but I'm curious if you ever moved forward on the Power Switch?

I will state that I ended up getting one for my 2012 Frontier and have it paired to my Garmin Tread Overland as we speak. After going through the Menu, I can say I liked some of the features and will have to touch base on that in the next day or two
