I took a 4500 mile road trip this summer through the Dakotas. I will say the seats were awesome comfortable in my ranger. Power heated seats really let me dial in a perfect feel.

Lariat option for heated leather power seats might make difference.

Looking for some honest real world input. I currently have a 2021 Jeep Gladiator. Due to an ongoing and worsening spinal issue it is getting really uncomfortable to drive for any extended period of time. It's a combination of the hard seats and the unforgiving ride of an sfa vehicle. It's to the point now that the stiffness of the seats puts so much pressure on my spine that I start to get pins and needles in my arm and hand. Yes I know I need to get this fixed. But I have already had two fusions and don't know if I want to go that route again.

So for any of you that have switched from a Jeep JT or JL to a Ranger what's your honest opinion on the ride and seat comfort. It's it drastic, minimal or not much different??

I need to do something soon. I found a Tremor that I like and want to get some input before I even start inquiring.
Hey, "honest real-world input" is the only kind we have here on the forum! I have never driven a Jeep, but I have a Ranger and a bad back (lumbar laminectomy, no fusion), so I can speak to the Ranger's ride in this respect. The stock suspension in my 2019 FX4 Lariat was too rough for my back to handle, so I added the Ford Performance Leveling Lift Kit, which made things much more comfortable. From what other members report, the Tremor has a much-improved suspension, so the ride is not an issue anymore, and no mods are needed to get a smooth ride. (I will probably get the Tremor or Raptor next time around.) The Ranger Lariat's seats were a pleasant surprise, with just the right amount of support without being too stiff, and with power-adjustable lumbar support so you can dial in the level of firmness you want at the small of the back. This is the only vehicle I have ever owned that I did not need to use some kind of cushion or support such as the gizmos they sell on Relax the Back etc. : Search: 10 results found for "travel" - Relax The Back . Also, if the budget (that is, the wife) allows it, get the Lariat Tremor for the heated seats, which really helps for trips long and short. Happy trails!

Thanks for all the feedback. As I stated in an earlier post I'm sure my biggest issues are the seats and seating position. The sfa suspension just adds to the discomfort on bumpy roads. It's good to hear the Ranger seats offer a good amount of comfort. Looks like I'll probably be placing a Tremor Lariat order when the order banks open. I was originally going to wait for the Gen6. But with the Bronco fiasco I can't see the Gen6 rollout being much better.

Marc @RANGER_MARC made a great point on the heated seats. I use mine all the time even in the summer. They double as a built in heating pad and feel great after working all day. Hopefully you find these more comfortable (I think you will) than the Gladiator was. At worst you could always upgrade the seats to something like a Katzkin with some extra cushioning. Good luck!!

I have heated seats in most of my vehicles and I can say with certainty that the heaters in the Ranger seats are the warmest, and when at the High setting border on thermonuclear.

Yeah, you have to be careful with that third bar...

Not yet. But in all honesty I want to check out a Pro 4X.
A loaded Nissan with their zero gravity seats are no joke. Definitely worth consideration.

All of my vehicles have had heated seats since buying my 2002 Jeep Liberty Limited. I can also attest to the Ranger heated seats work quite well. I never put them on high except for very cold winter days. The only other heated seats that I have had that would burn your buns like the Ranger was my 02 Liberty.

The heated seats definitely help with my arthritis and fibromyalgia even during the summer.

@Garemlin You don't have to go with the Lariat leather seats to get heated seats. Unless that is what you truly want, I won't talk you out of it. I have the clothe heated seats in my XLT.

Does anyone live near Steve who could let him ride in a Tremor? That might be pretty influential. I'm in NC and a little too far away

Well I was just told we have a 4 door JL in the garage now. I guess when I get home I can give you an honest comparison.

The 2019 Grand Cherokee I had before my Gladiator is the first vehicle I owned with heated seats. My Gladiator has them too. I'll never own another vehicle without them.

And I would definitely be going with a Lariat for the LED headlights alone.

I just swapped a Jeep JL Unlimited Rubicon for my 2022 Ford Ranger FX4. I have not driven a Gladiator, I suspect they are a little stiffer in the ride than a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon.

Everyone is different when it comes to seat comfort. For me, my Ranger XLT FX4 is a lot more comfortable than my Jeep.

I do think it sounds like a Tremor is the right move for you if you go Ranger (it has the most compliant suspension of the Rangers), probably the right move for most people. The only reason I bought an FX4 over a Tremor was it was the only model they had.

I hope you find the right match for your back, life is too short to live in pain.

Edit: Forgot to mention what a few others have already, if you get a Tremor, you don't need different shocks, etc.

The Jeeps heated seats were the worst I've had. #3 was barely as warm as #1 in my Ranger.

The ones in my Grand Cherokee work pretty well, though not on the level of the Ranger.

But my Jeep is from the Mercedes era instead of the Fiat era, which means that it's chock full of "German Engineering" mixed with a healthy dose of Chrysler cost cutting.

German Engineering means that the philosophy is "Why use a component comprising of 3 parts that will work 95% of the time when we can use a component comprising of 137 parts that will work for 96.5% of the time"
