I actually talked about using the dial indicator on the second post of this thread.

Actual data trumps speculation... so I felt it was worth 10 minutes of my time to put some actual numerical data into the conversation.
Naww I actually agree with you. Good job posting these. I think if people want less flexing than this then they should buy a Honda Ridgeline, lol.

Yep. A little over 1/16" in the one case, and about 1/32" on the other.
Oh now look at you! Making it all fractiony and stuff.

Maybe you can explain why the socket set I inherited from my Great Grandfather had sockets in it like 11/16, 21/28, 37/64 and 51/73 - who needs sockets that oddly sized? I figured back in his day (building war birds) they were just happy if they had quarters and halves. Da hell do I do with all of these odd sizes that fit nothing mass produced after '45?

What do you do? You cherish them. That's so awesome. Thanks for sharing that.

I have a box of odd sockets that come in handy dealing with rusted, rounded, or otherwise damaged fasteners. Sometimes a slightly over or undersized one does the job without resorting to heat and “percussive maintenance”.

I revisited this video today... check out the bed to cab clearance....

Great video...I assume the cab was pushed into the bed. Do you know why the headlights are only marginal? What would make them acceptable? I test drove at night, one of the reasons I went with the LEDs.

The two big changes in the standard were checking for glare (ranger did ok on that but a lot of trucks failed) and illumination on curves. It's hard to throw light to the sides without increasing glare, and I think the vehicles testing well out of the gate mostly had steerable beams. To put this in context, in the midsize segment only the new for 2020 led beams in the Tacoma (presumably designed to the new standard) are "good". The regular Tacoma headlights have the same marginal rating as the ranger, and the rest of the segment is "poor". It isn't possible to get "good" unless you meet the new standards for glare and curve illumination, and every time the iihs updates the standards a bunch of vehicles get knocked down until they're redesigned. I have no doubt that ford will address this in the refresh, but probably not until then.
