since we're way off topic now (whoops) I had to buy a rivet gun AND a rivnut gun to install my snorkel. I didn't know there was a difference, but now I do...

Luckily, I went to school to be a mechanic and I bought a big old Craftsman 'mechanic starter set'. I still have almost all those tools (sockets have gone missing). It was surprisingly comprehensive and I can get most jobs done with the tools included. They aren't always the easiest tool for the job, but they work.
I broke my rivnut tool installing the roof rack on the Ranger. I applied too much force and boke the pivot. I will say that I prefer Plusnuts to rivets. However, I prefer a bolt and nut to both.

I've learned that I need a fancy spring compressor, tire balancer, hydraulic lift, 26 gallon air compressor, and a whole lot of other toys.......uhhh I mean tools that will not fit in my garage. All just so that I can tinker with the Ranger.

Granted, I was a big fan of air tools for many decades. For impact drivers have all Snap-on. They have serious torque and haven’t met a fastener yet that that they can’t get off. But, my son the plumber while kitting himself out got 18V Milwaukee impact drivers among other things. At first I’m like sure, that toy for that? Well I’m a believer now! Serious torque and portability. Already have my own 3/8 because I really like it that much!
