Once I compressed the spring and loosened the pinch bolt on the collar, it spun very easily.

Once I compressed the spring and loosened the pinch bolt on the collar, it spun very easily.
You compressed with a manual spring compressor? Or with a H frame type press?
Maybe I'm not compressing it enough

H frame hydraulic press is whay I ended up using, with a bearing splittler on the bottom of the coil spring spacer. I've used strut spring compressors on other cars, but the close spacing of the fox coils made it difficult to fit a typical spring compressor that I had.

Ahh okay yeah, the consensus seems to be to use a press to compress the springs. So I'll probably be going that route.
