Ford Sync 3.4 Map Upgrade- No voice commands for navigation

I bought the Ford USB Sync 3 update for the map upgrade for United states/Canada/Mexico.
I updated sync to 3.4 build 21194 and then inserted the usb map update into the usb socket while the car ran for about 2.5 hours. The update was done as the screen was normal and I waited for approx 10 minutes and nothing was going on.
I took out the usb and checked the map update and it shows Version NA 2 20.
Everything looked ok until I tried the navigation while underway and it wont allow any voice commands to do a street address search or navigation. All other voice commands for the radio work fine.
I tried doing a master reset 2x and still nothing.
I reinserted the NAV USB again and it now says MEM_ERR01

I believe they write to the USB once it is used to prevent someone else from using it. I would go to Cyanlabs.net and down load the Sync Updater software to your PC. Then let the software down load the map again and configure the USB. Now you can try the install again. In the future you can get the map updated for free from Cyanlabs.

Thanks for the information.. I have downloaded the sync 3 updater tool along with all the NA nav maps version 220.
I will try and load it today.

Instead of letting Ranger run the whole time try hooking up a battery charger, 2amp minimum. I did the USB update last year - I'll have to go back and look at my notes here on Ranger5g. Note: Posting #373.

It goes fairly quick with a USB. Just make sure you let it finish.

You will have to phone: 1.800.392.3673 and have the info on the sticker on the bottom front of the case ready when they ask for it

Maybe try downloading the same version it has? I’m just throwing out an idea.

I will try calling Ford at their service number but not holding my breath.

My map was updated over the air a while ago and just tried a voice search and it responded that searches are not available until the maps are updated. I have version NA2 20. Wonder if anyone else is able to voice search?

I’m having the same issue and can’t seem to fix it have you had any luck?

Had to do a full reset then it all worked.
