I am awaiting my delivery of my 2024 Ranger Lariat. I want to install the Ford performance tune to my truck. I call many Ford dealers and they do no install it.I thought you need a Ford dealer to install to not effect your warranty. Is this true, or I can install it myself.

Yes it's true that you're supposed to have a Ford dealer instal it (or a certified mechanic install it) to retain the warranty. If you instal it yourself you won't retain the warranty and if you end up doing that I would suggest getting a different tune. There's several others out there (Livernois which I used on my '19) that are good and give you more hp/tq for less money and are still "safe" to use.

Now that they are offering the V6 option for the Ranger, I would be surprised if Ford continues to offer the performance tune for the 2.3.

This is really a question better asked on the 6G forum than here. There are probably enough differences between the two that what we say here may not apply.

Will either of these tunes get rid of the steady misfire and surging?

I know on my '19 adding the Livernois tune helped smooth out the shifts but not sure about the misfire as I never encountered it. The surging could also be the EGR sensor which is discussed in this thread here.
