I ran the FP tune for a lot of miles and just used tow mode to enable all the gears. Works great and you get the best of both worlds.

I found a used tuner for sale and the seller said it was VIN locked. He claims that it can be unlocked for $100. But, I have searched and can't figure out how to go about getting it unlocked.

Anyone done this?

Per Ford performance it cannot be unlocked. If it’s not a Ford performance tuner, you’d have to reach out to the manufacturer and or tuner. But the ones that actually are branded, Ford cannot be unlocked. They become a very expensive paperweight.
