I saw a Roush tune posted on here a few days ago - I thought I read it was an official Ford tune, but it was a tune and a CAI and it didn't offer much in the way or performance - but it wouldn't void your warranty.

Can’t buy in Cali
Lol. Don't live in Cali...

Roush is going to be your only bet right now as far as factory support for aftermarket tunes goes. Almost 20% increase in torque is pretty good imo for a tune that's backed by factory warranty. Cheap, Fast, Reliable, pick two. :sunglasses:

My favorite saying is that people buy horsepower, but they drive torque. 53ft/lbs is significant for a tune that keeps your warranty, but I wouldn't pay that for it!

I wounder if Mountune will jump into the game soon. They have offered up few few Ford endorsed performance tunes and power packages. Be careful to read the fine print on the "warranty" though. I heard that the factory warranty is voided and replaced with a "Ford Performance", "Roush", or whatever "Company" the provide the tune/power package. That's just what I've heard, so please do your own research. I don't plan on tuning my truck, so I'm not going to waste my time doing so.

I bumped into someone from Mountune yesterday and was told they are developing some Ranger parts. They wouldnt tell me any more than that but I would expect the usual upgrades.

Directly from Roush: "At ROUSH Performance, we believe in offering more than thrilling performance. ROUSH ensures every 2019 ROUSH Level 1 Ranger Performance Pac offers peace of mind with our 3-year/36,000-mile ROUSH limited powertrain warranty."

Clearly Roush is including their own supplemental warranty for added protection. This most likely steps in if Ford declines a repair due to the Roush upgrades.

$900 for said gains and preservation of warranty is 100% worth it. How much is your new motor going to cost for a denied claim when a cut rate tune kills your engine?

The only shame is they did it for 93 octane, hopefully they change that soon.

If you factor in that for the $900 (I’ve already seen it for sale for $800 btw) and $399 of it comes from the CAI itself, then you are only paying $500 for the tune and the warranty coverage.

it may not be the most aggressive tune you can buy if it only makes the advertised gains. Odds are that it outperforms the advertised output too. But as a tuner myself, I can’t offer any customer a Tune AND a ford compatible warranty for only $500 and still make any profit at the end of the day.

So if you think about it that way, it’s a steal.

People will pay $1000 for a cat back exhaust that adds no power and barely blink an eye.

Don't you get the same performance boost just running 93 octane with no tune?

Doubtful, higher octane only slows the fuel burn to help eliminate pre detonation.

the Driver Demanded Torque targets are hard coded in the ECU. They are set sadly low in the Ranger. You won’t get more power without raising these targets in the tune.
