01:37 PM EST, 12/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor (F.NaE) is set to appoint a new head of quality to reduce recalls and cut warranty costs, Reuters reported Wednesday.
Control of the quality team will be transferred from Jim Baumbick to a new, yet-to-be-named leader, while Baumbick will focus on overseeing electric vehicle programs, Reuters said.
The shift, announced to certain Ford employees last week, is set to take effect early next year, the report said.
Restructuring will help teams collaborate more effectively to deliver high-quality vehicles and software, a Ford spokesperson said, according to Reuters.
Ford didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
