Backing up may be necessary for your adventure. Many Youtube vids, this one is a simp[le starter:

Backing up trailer

Give extra clearance while turning corners and make backing up movements and speed SLOW.

I towed the largest enclosed U-haul trailer with my Ranger a week after I got it across Houston to help my brother move. You will barely know it is back there. Do not be surprised at the fuel economy, as with ecoboost engines, you get eco or boost, not both.

I will advise to turn off lane keep assist or whatever it is called, when it jerks the wheel at the wrong time, will not be a good thing. It can also be very annoying when it tries to take over when you're going straight, but it wants you to take the exit or something.

Or just use tow mode when towing like you are supposed to?!
On really steep hills it can accelerate down, when I use gear shift in Sport mode to keep from burning up the brakes, dealer's choice!

You are aware that tow mode will do auto shift down along with still being able to manually shift down as well right? I dealt with that plenty on my 2019

I tow A 4,500 lb TT 1-2 times a month, flat and mountain. Tow mode is great, but does not hold back on steep grades when foot is off the gas and you wanna stay below a safe speed, esp. on windy roads.

I am glad it works to your expectations!

Perhaps you should try touching the brakes? I don't mean slamming the brakes either. Simply being easy enough to not warp rotors but yet still being effective enough to slow you down will be more than enough to slow you down and have the transmission downshift on its own a bit early. Oh that isn't enough? Then hit the +/- on the shifter and start locking out gears on a hill. Also for a trailer that heavy I certainly hope you have trailer brakes and a suitable trailer brake controller as well as that will help the effort of slowing down effectively.

Hitch up the trailer and drive around an empty parking lot. Practice backing up - try backing it into a spot at 90*. Once you figure out how it feels and follows, take it to a low traffic area and get a better feel.

Leave some room for stopping and turning.

You want more weight between the trailer backwall/hitch and wheels than you want near the gate. If the trailer starts making your car wiggle at speed, you've loaded very wrong and need to move weight forward (and don't jam the breaks if this happens, just keep straight and let off the gas).

If you're good with spatial stuff, it won't be a problem. Just drive slower and defensively.

I've never paid attention to the 55mph warning.

UHaul won't give you a lock for the gate - you might need to get one.

Buy the insurance. CYA.
