Saturday I purchased my first Ranger .. first ford really , it's a 2021 4WD Super Cew 4Door .. the truck is great , 37k miles new tires and the beautiful cactus gray color .

After driving about 60 miles I tried to use the 4wd just to make sure all was all , and after about few trys in park and neutral it wouldn't do anything , just blinked the 4H & 4L at me . I took it back to the dealer and after about half a day they called and said it had a B1402-67 code and they will have to order and replace the MSS Selector ? I also told them about the clunk on stop and go from what seems like the slip yoke needing greesed .. has anyone experienced this in a End of April to early July 5G ? (My built date is 04/30/2021)

After this is taking care of .. do I look forward to good times with the truck or continued problems ?

Thanks for having me & please don't hesitate to share similar story's or tips and tricks about the 5G .. thanks ,

Welcome Kyle.

The slip joint is a common thing and needs regular maintenance and there's a thread on it below. Once you get the new selector I would recommend using the 4wd a few times a year just to keep everything from not freezing up and moving. You should do this off road (not on asphalt) and any dirt road is fine and just run it for a few hundred yards or so. I'd also consider changing out the Diff fluids and transmission fluid seeing as you don't know what the previous owner has done. Hopefully after you get these taken care of you'll be able to enjoy your new Ranger.

Congratulations on the Ranger! Personally I wouldn’t worry about any other issues. I bought mine new in 2020 and have had zero issues. I’m currently at 110,000 miles and think it’s a great truck. I drive thru mud and dirt roads a decent amount. I also tow my boat frequently. I would service the transmission sooner than later. There are plenty of threads on here about the transmission lol. Im surprised @AzScorpion hasn't tried convincing you to get a tailgate damper yet😂.

Welcome Kyle. Post up some pictures of that Cactus Gray.

Hope they are fixing that 4X4 problem for you on their dime.

Since you get some snow in MD you should be good with getting 4WD used a couple times a year. I always forget to put in neutral for 4L.

Ive seen alot of people talking g about tunes for e85 and stuff .. is there any decent tunes to use ( I can port myself using FORscan or buy that are for daily driving using pump gas ? Never done a tune before just looking for reliable, gas mpg and maybe add a bit more power ?

Livernois and Unleashed are probably the two most popular ones. I had the Livernois tune in my '19 and really liked it but many here have the Unleashed. With the Unleashed tune you can have him customize it more towards your needs and tweek it as needed.

Dealer came back and said my truck had these fault codes .. do you guys think this is from a battery going bad and causing the CANbus to not work properly ? Makings the 4wd selector (MCC) blink or could this be the TSB21-2412 ? They keep telling me I can have they're loaner car till they figure it out .. I just want the truck back .. so lost
