Posted by the folks at Bronco6g, here's our first look of the Ranger in it's new for 2021 paint color, Cactus Gray. (Also Iconic Silver on Ranger to the far right and Velocity Blue in the background)

Strangely, I think the color looks better on the Ranger than Bronco. This certainly isn't the shade that was presented with the Bronco showcase vehicle (pictures posted below), and i'm not a fan of boring asphalt colored cars. Surely this will be a hot seller as truck owners love to have their vehicle look like concrete for the extra faux-rugged appearance.

Do note that factory lighting has a tendency to wash out colors a bit.

The colors are so washed out in the first pic, they look like white to me. Hopefully CG looks more like the outdoor photos IRL. I'm sure whoever took the inside pics didn't adjust the white balance on their camera or in postproduction.

Cactus Gray, and the Area 51 (Bronco color) are very hard to get a read on looking at pictures. I'm wondering if the CG is close to the Lead Foot grey on the F-150's.

Fa tory lighting never does any color justice. Lots of colors will look very different dependent on light and angle, need to see in person. Although I will say not high on my list.

Supposedly production paint pics at last summer's Bronco events. Please note that these cans appeared VERY early in the Bronco release timeline. My personal opinion is that these use pre-production paint instead of production paint for Cactus Gray.

if i ordered cactus grey sight unseen, and then saw that pic...i'd be deleting my order LOL.

that doesnt do it any justice.
I'm that worried guy. I've got an FX4 CG on order and am hoping that this lighting is playing tricks and that the real model, in fact, looks better. In Bronco Sport videos on YouTube, the color looks much more vibrant.

For example

It's hard to believe that the cans in photos 6 & 7 are the same color with that lighting. CG is going to be a chameleon.

Please note that there was a VERY long lead time for the press embargo from the event that video was shot to when they could release their reviews on 12/7/2020

https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2020/12/2021-ford-bronco-sport-first-drive-baby-bronco-done-right/

The cars they drove were pre-production, including the one you linked a video to.

You'll have to do more research to find PRODUCTION vehicles in Cactus Gray, however, I seriously doubt the vehicle you will get will have the color linked in your video.

I've been looking, trust me. There is not a CG Ford in my area that I can go look at.

Some say that the Mustang Mach 1's Fighter Jet gray is the same. I've even seen Ford say it. Every photo of Fighter Jet Gray looks different from every video of CG, though, so you may be on to something about them changing the color code from pre-production till now.

There are, I believe, two Mach 1's in Fighter Jet Gray. Both of those are considered "showcase" vehicles which are not production. AFAIK, there has not been a production Mustang released in CG/FG to see.

Therefore, I group Mach 1 Mustang in with the Bronco pre-release showcase vehicles as 1-off, hand-sprayed, hand-mixed paint colors. When I can see production images of both then we will know for sure, but Ford won't have a custom hue of the same paint color for different vehicles. Cactus Gray is a fleet color so it will be uniform across Ranger, Bronco and Mustang.
