Welp, yesterday I decided since it was 60+*, I would go out, pull panels and route the wiring for the mag safe charger inside the dash.

I broke out the nylon tools and carefully removed the left side of the radio vent and the panel below it. I set them on the dash and commenced to routing the wire.

After getting the wires where I wanted them, I put the vent assembly back in and started on the panel below it. One of the clips was missing, so I set the panel down on the center consul to look for it. Found it still in the dash.

When I went to get the panel, it was gone. Looked around and the little pup was chewing on one of the posts that hold it on. Grabbed it from her and surveyed the damage. Wasn't too bad. I was able to clean up some of the teeth marks with a razor knife. It was considerably smaller in girth that it was pre chewing. Looked like it would still work.

So, I put the clip on and started to install the panel. While pushing the last clip fully in, I heard a snap. The "skinny post" snapped off. Unfortunately, it was the top right post that just happens to hold it snug to the rest of the panels.

There is a bright side, that panel is available and only costs $33 and change. Should be here in a couple days. So, lesson learned ... Plastic Panels and puppies don't mix. The gal at the ford dealer's parts counter told me I got off easy. She said there was a guy in a couple months ago whose dogs did about $1,000 in damage when he left his two dogs unattended for about five minutes in his F350 ... ouch. Oh well, C'est la Vie.

My cat likes to chew on electrical wires , so I feel your pain. If I'm working on a harness or something I have to hide it if leaving unattended

Our puppy was the fastest one we ever had that could sever a phone charging cord into two pieces with a 2 chew move. You see her going for it and before the words come out of your mouth, chomp, chomp and I’m holding a tail. ? So we invested in the heavy armored types! That will fix her problem we thought. Now it’s 3 chomps for the severed cord... ?

She did grow out of it finally but the wreckage was costly all the same!

Ouch! That sucks!

Back in 2003 at the age of 23, I bought my first new vehicle ever. It was a 2003 Ford Ranger XLT regular cab, 2 wheel drive. I sure was proud of it.

A few months after getting it, I put my pup on the passenger side floor-board to walk around to the driver side to take her to the dog park, and found she filled the floor-board with pee in the very short time it took to walk around the truck. Arghhhhhh!

As a kid my step mother had a late 80's Z28 Camaro. Family dog decided that the wheel center caps where a good chew toy. That dog lost her garage privileges.

So, when the new part comes in does the dog get to finish what it started? :curse:

I don't think so, that would probably result in her throwing up in my bed. My sleeping bed ... not the truck bed.

Hi Folks,

My Tortoise is a diurnal herbivore. Fancy term for awake during the day and strictly a plant eater. Pees and poops when he feels like it .... not able to house train... Sigh!

Few years back I took my 3 month old German Shepard Xena to work w me early one morning in my pristine interior 2000 frontier crew cab 4x4. I vaguely heard noises on the drive and when I stopped and turned on the lights she has Shreaded to back door arm rest!

I'm impressed, I ordered the new panel to replace the one my pup chewed on Monday.

This morning, Friday I went to purchase 2# of Enstrom's and deliver that to my buddies business as a Thank You for the help with the Undercover Elite LX Tonneau. The we (the pup and I), delivered it to the guys.

From there, I headed to the dealer I bought the truck from to get my second 60 day temp plate. I'm guessing I'll be on my third temp before the DMV finally gets a

and gets the paperwork done to issue my plates. As I understand it, this isn't a Colorado issue, just a Mesa county problem. I bought my trike from a dealer in Ft. Collins, Co. and the dealer had the paperwork to Mesa county the next da. They overnighted it. Still took 2, 60 day temps, but, I digress.

I left the dealer secure in the knowledge that tomorrow I would still be legal.

Took the pup to the desert for a run. On the way home Ford called, my new panel was in. My plan is to install it after lunch ... ?

It's not just Mesa County. Every county is having issues.

It took Adam's County over 2 months to tell my dealership they miscalculated sales tax.

Luckily the one good thing my dealership did was write my temp tag for 90 days. I assume they had some sort of clearance to do so.

My dealer can't do that ... Mesa County won't allow it because they don't want anyone to know they're slow (dealers words ... not mine). So, the dealer just rewrites them as necessary.

Worst kept secret in Mesa County ... well except that the Police don't enforce the temp dates because they know how the DMV is ... I saw a truck yesterday with a temp on it that EXPIRED 01/04/2019.

For most of last year expiration dates, temp or otherwise, have been ignored by LEO'S due to closure of County offices. But that's ridiculous.

I showed up to pay for my tags, and the rest of my sales tax, on the first day Adam's County took walk-ins in 6 months. I arrived right after work, I work nights, 2 hours before they opened. There was already a line forming at the door @ 6:00 a.m.

I got in on the first group and they got me taken care of quick. But when I walked out I could see the line was over 200 people deep.

One of the many clusterfucks that 2020 provided.
